For many contractors, it’s a difficult decision between a full-size pickup truck and a functional panel van. The Nissan NV Cargo Van eliminates that choice. Thanks to its shared underpinnings with the Titan pickup, it offers truck-caliber strength and cargo-van versatility. It is even available with V8 power, as well as a few creature comforts you might expect to find in a Nissan road car.
The NV is available in 1500, 2500, and 3500 configurations as well as S, SV, and SL trims. The 1500 and 2500 are available in S and SV trims, while the 3500 is available in SV and SL trims. The 2500 S comes standard with a backup camera, power windows, a tilt steering column, and manually adjustable seats. The front passenger’s seat folds flat forward, revealing a seatback tray table.
Other standard features on the 1500 S include Bluetooth connectivity and a 7-inch touchscreen audio display. Moving up to the SV trim adds cruise control, backup sensors, power-adjustable side mirrors, and interior cargo panels. Other available features include satellite radio, navigation, a multi-function lockable center console, and 17-inch chrome-clad wheels. No matter the trim, the NV features a helpful, versatile cockpit, with plenty of storage for all your gear.
The 1500 comes standard with a 4.0-liter V6 engine. It makes 261 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, sent through a five-speed automatic transmission. A 5.6-liter V8 engine is standard on the 2500 and 3500. It puts out 375 hp and 387 lb-ft of torque, routed through a seven-speed automatic transmission. Both engines route power to rear-wheel drive (RWD). When properly equipped, a V8-powered NV can tow up to 9,400 pounds. It’s also available with various tow prep packages.
Base MSRP for the 2021 Nissan NV Cargo van is $30,540. The NV 2500 starts at $31,440. The NV 3500 starts at $36,200. A range-topping NV 3500 SL starts at $39,460. According to Nissan, 2021 will be the last model year for the NV, but will continue to provide fleet support for the van through its “Business Advantage” program.
