The Toyota Camry Hybrid now sits in a dwindling field of midsize hybrid sedans, competing solely against the Honda Accord Hybrid. For 2020, it sees no notable changes.
Just like last year, the Camry Hybrid comes in LE, SE, and XLE trims. The LE comes with LED headlights, LED taillights, 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 4.2-inch instrument cluster LCD, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, keyless access and start, and a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and 6 speakers. The SE gets a unique front fascia and body kit, 18-inch sport alloy wheels, and leatherette upholstery. The XLE comes with 18-inch silver alloy wheels, leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, an advanced instrument cluster, Qi wireless charging, and heated side mirrors.
Every Camry Hybrid gets a flavor of Toyota’s 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, a battery, and a pair of electric motor-generators. Together, they couple with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to produce 208 system horsepower. Thankfully, the battery sits beneath the rear seat, so the Hybrid offers 15.1 cubic feet of trunk space, just like the gas-only Camry. The LE trim gets stellar fuel economy of as high as 51 mpg city, 53 highway, and 52 combined. Strangely, XLE and SE models are quite a bit lower, with estimates of 44, 47, and 46.
As it is for most modern Toyota models, the Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) system is standard on every Camry Hybrid. That gets you forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic detection, and lane-tracing assist are all optional. The Camry as a whole received a 2019 Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

This vehicle is supposed to have Remote Access using the Toyota App. I have an iPhone XR and loaded the Toyota App which shows it recognizes my vehicle and will tell me mileage, fuel, last trip, my driving analysis, but just won't connect to Unlock, Lock, Start as it's supposed to. Nor will it notify me if I've left the trunk open, door/s or window/s unlocked. In other words, the "actions" part of the App don't work. No help from dealership. Offer diagnostics that will cost me if it discovers "operator error". Is anyone else having this problem with Remote Connect App?
