After a significant redesign to the Aveo5 Hatchback in 2009, Chevrolet is letting the 2010 Chevy Aveo lineup ride essentially unchanged. The 2010 Aveo, offered as both a sedan and a five-door hatchback, the Aveo5, is delivered in three trim levels for each configuration. The LS is the base trim, with the LT in the middle and the LT2 as the high-end trim. Both the Aveo sedan and Aveo5 hatchback seat five comfortably, with the sedan offering a somewhat paltry 12.4 cubic feet of trunk space and the Aveo5 featuring a relatively cavernous 42 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats folded flat.
Only one powerplant is offered for the 2010 Aveo line: a 1.6-liter, variable-valve-timed inline four-cylinder engine that comes with a standard five-speed manual transmission. This combination puts out 108 hp and 105 lb-ft of torque, and is rated by the EPA at a stellar 27/34 mpg. Additionally, the LT and LT2 trims in both the 2010 Aveo sedan and the Aveo5 hatchback are eligible for an available four-speed automatic transmission that in ’09 allowed the Aveo LT trims to achieve an EPA-estimated 25/34.
For 2010, the base Chevy Aveo LS is delivered with such standard appearance, comfort, and convenience features as 14-inch steel wheels, a rear spoiler, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, split-folding rear seatbacks (yep, the sedan too), tilt-wheel steering, an AM/FM stereo, and the OnStar hands-free communications system. Options for the 2010 Aveo sedan and Aveo5 hatchback LS trims include air conditioning and upgraded paint.
The 2010 Aveo sedan and Aveo5 LT trims add air conditioning and an MP3-capable single-CD player with six speakers to the list of standard features and the four-speed automatic transmission, 15-inch aluminum wheels, four-wheel ABS, cruise control, power windows, door locks, and heated mirrors, as well as satellite radio to the cast of options.
The top-shelf 2010 Chevy Aveo sedan and Aveo5 hatchback LT2 trims include premium cloth upholstery, power windows, locks, and heated mirrors, cruise control, and satellite radio as standard equipment, while throwing a power sunroof and leather seating into the options mix.
Safety features standard with the 2010 Aveo trims include dual-stage front airbags, front side-mounted airbags, front fog/driving lights, a remote anti-theft alarm, and a post-collision safety system, including OnStar remote monitoring.
Owners of the 2009 Aveo found both the sedan and the Aveo5 hatchback to be roomy and comfortable, though some owners in ’09 had issues with the Aveo’s dependability, acceleration, and a disturbing rattle. However, virtually all owners find the Aveo sedan and Aveo5 hatchback stylish, quiet, nimble, and with a better-than-decent sound system. The overall value of the ’09 Aveo sedan and Aveo5 hatchback also mitigated a lot of perceived shortcomings.

I've never had any engine trouble with this car, it's always gotten great gas mileage, handles well, inexpensive to maintain, great turning radius.
I've only had an issue with headlight bulbs burning out more often than I think is normal.

I'm short, under 5ft. I needed a small car that I could see out of. This is it! I just bought it 8/1/13. So far, it rides great, steers well, seats comfy, stereo sounds good, hatchback space nice, just so cute! I have no negatives yet, I just bought but I'm happy! POWER, MAINTENENCE, RELIABILITY, FUEL AND CARGO get 1 star because I just bought it!Aug 05, 2013

The tires wear easily, the first month I had the car, I had to replace spark plugs, a coil, my AC doesnt work at all even after being worked on my the dealership, it does not go in the snow, it putters and makes all kinds of noises. I do not recommend this car to anyone. Chevy should be ashamed they even put a car like this on the market. I got this car after totaling a Honda civic. I knew I should have gotten another Honda. My boyfriend and I are die hard chevy people, but me not so much anymore. This car has ruined me and made me re think Chevy products all together.Mar 30, 2013

This car has great head room, and storage area, you can easily store things such as skis or snowboards with one seat down. Great gas mileage, and handling. The car has very little horse power(but I wasn't looking to be racing with the car anyway), and is a great car for the price,Oct 14, 2012

My wifes car. Bought this car as a second family car to replace a 2006 Kia Picanto as the boot was too small to cope with our baby son. It was a 9 month old ex-demonstrator with 10k miles on it. Great price for this age vehicle. Spec is also great and boot is reallt good for a super mini. But....performance is terrible, the Picanto was much nippier. Stearing is heavy and a bit numb. Quite a lot of body roll too. Buid quality is ok, but the black chips and marks too easy. I can only compare it against the Kia Picanto and the Renault Clio before that, both of which were much better!! Mar 30, 2012

My 2010 Chevy Aveo keeps stalling and dying? Any help?
I have a 2010 Chevy Aveo that I continue have stalling problems with. This has been going on well over a year and the dealership has seemed to not be able to figure it out. When I'm driving it will suddenly stall and the rpm will run high while I'm pressing on the gas doing like 60 and then I'll let off to realign myself and it's like it resets it or if I stomp on the gas, make sure the rpm gauge doesn't hit the red. Sometimes while idling it will die too but during both instances it always restarts. I've taken it to the dealership and they first replaced Catalac Converter, they checked the fuel pump and air intake and also did a software update. Neither of these solutions worked. It feels like as if when your transmission goes out and starts to stall . For example I'll being like 60mph my foot won't move from gas petal and it will suddenly lose power/stall rpm are high as if I'm forcing it to do 60mph now and then if I let completely off the gas petal or stomp on gas it's like it restarts or refreshes it. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Car not heating
About my 2010 Chevy Aveo LT sedan - The fan blows when the heat is turned on, but it blows cold air. If I drive a while it will blow warm for a few minutes than go back blowing cold. It doesn't matter how I turn the dials or set them. Haven't see mechanic since June for general maintenance.
