Saab’s 2009 9-3 sports a wealth of new options and features despite being a carryover. The Saab XWD system was made available on 2.0T sedan trims. For the top-tier Aero trims, an award-winning and more powerful 280-hp V6 engine and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential were made standard. For the 2.0T FWD sedan trims, an Aero type appearance and performance option package is now available that offers upgraded brakes as well as a sport-tuned suspension in addition to styling changes, and 17x7.5-inch five-spoke alloys come standard, as on the Aero trims. 2.0T XWD trims get 17x7-inch alloys.
Further additions include carbon-fiber interior trim on Aero trims, OnStar 8.0 with Turn-by-Turn Navigation, and Bluetooth. Color choices change as well, with Grey now offered as a new convertible top option, Carbon Grey Metallic and Smoke Beige debuting as new exterior colors, and Glass Grey Metallic replacing Parchment Silver.
After the redesign of 2008, this year’s 9-3, available in four trim levels, has been refined with exterior trim, roof rail, and wheel changes.
The 9-3's inline four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine puts out a healthy 210 hp and still produces an EPA rating of 18/27 mpg. For an extra 70 hp, choose the Aero model’s 2.8-liter V6, which still hands out a respectable 15/24 mpg rating. The 2.0 is available with a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission, while the 2.8 offers six speeds, manual or automatic.
Regardless of the trim chosen, buyers will be treated to a leather interior with a power driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, OnStar, and 16-inch alloy wheels. However, for those who want a bit more, a Premium Package offers a power passenger seat as well, wood trim, 17-inch wheels, Bose stereo, steering-linked Xenon fog- and headlights, heated seats, and a moonroof for the sedans.
The Aero adds a sport-tuned suspension, power sunroof, dual polished exhaust, upgraded seats and brakes, and additional styling upgrades to distinguish it from other trims.

I miss the button dash Saab like my 2006 9-3 that I sold. This one has a very GM dash with the GM radio and the knobs for the climate control look like they come from the GM Europe parts bin.Jan 30, 2014

loads of go in the engine and in my opinion the best styled estate you can buy.
some niggles like the odd noise from the dash and the fact its very hard to marry a mobile phone up to its hands free.
The best seats I have ever had the pleasure to sit in ,out of ant car I have owned or been in.

Saab 93 Wagon 2009, Wont start when it is very cold below 32 F. Anyone have a solution?
When its cold out and the car has been sitting over night or all day in the lot it is quite difficult to start. When it goes into the teens -forget it. But once it starts and car is warmed up I can stop at the grocery store or a restaurant and it is fine starting when I come back. Anyone have this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks, Eric

Could my A/C issue be anything but the compressor?
