Write a reviewThe Audi Q7 represents the German auto maker's first venture into the SUV market. This luxury crossover is loosely based on the Volkswagen Touareg, but the Q7 offers more seating, additional luxuries, and of course, a more prestigious sticker price. The Q7 debuted in 2007, and it has been carried over for the 2008 model year. A diesel version is in the works for 2009.
There are currently three variations of Audi's pioneer SUV. A base level trim includes all of the luxury necessities, while a Premium trim advanced features like a navigation system, a rear backup camera, and satellite radio. The Premium trim is available with two engine options, while the base style is V6 only. An optional "S-Line" features group offers some performance and appearance enhancements, like sport seats, special front and rear fascias, 21-inch alloys, and performance tires. An air suspension system and advanced adaptive cruise control are also optional.
The entry level Q7 is powered by a 3.6 liter V6, which produces 280 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Audi also offers a larger power plant option, in the form of a 4.2 liter V8, making 350 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed transmission with manual-shift control, and all three models come equipped with Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system. The V8-powered Q7 will tow 6600 pounds.
Test drivers have praised the Audi Q7 for its build quality, on road manners and refinement, and handling abilities. The V8 offers strong acceleration for an SUV, zipping from 0 to 60 mph in just seven seconds. The price for this performance is paid in fuel efficiency, with the V8 in the mid-teens for mpg in mixed driving.
Inside, noise intrusions are minimal, and driver's report great comfort regardless of surface. Audi's air suspension offers additional cushioning on rougher roads. Owners have found the Q7's dash layout to clean and functional, and build materials are of the finest quality. The Q7's third-row seating is for kids only, and even the little ones might find these quarters a bit tight.

It has a lot of cosmetic issues that cant be seen online. Also, the radio and the other electronics such as the GPS does not work. It is not worth what owner is requesting. He should be asking $5000 considering the repairs the car needs.Jul 28, 2022

I have thought highly of Audis in general, as I have owned 3 of them (a 1978 Audi 5000 that I owned for 16 years with the only issue being a warped head, a 2007 A3 which served me well but I outgrew it, and my current car, a 2007 S6, which is a great car, albeit expensive to fix!). The Q7 gives me what Im looking for in an SUV - large size and versatility. I would prefer a V8, as my mechanic tells me to steer clear of the V6 models. The features on the Q7 are much better that what the domestic manufacturers offer, and dont feel like you re driving a glorified pickup. I am still on the hunt for the right one, but that is what I have my sights set on.Jan 05, 2021

This is outstanding for long drives with many people. It is surprisingly nimble for a beast of a car. The engine is great but has to haul too much weight. The suspension is tight and tuned for sport driving, with some road feedback. In the snow, this can NOT be stopped!Oct 28, 2012

I have been driving Audi cars all my life and that is enough to say. I might try Mercedes but in my world Audi rules. When people ask me how my Audi truck drives I tell them its an Audi and that's all I know. I can't tell the difference between driving my A8 and my Q7.Apr 30, 2012

This is my own car that I drive every day and I think every household
needs a SUV in their garage- Audi is simply amazing in everything they
do, this one is a 2008 and comes with state of the art toys and
electronics,great BOSE sound system, Audi's MMI is simply the leader,
the weight takes a toll on its engine performance but it really does not
suffer under stressful acceleration (I live in Miami so you need to be
quick on your pedals) that is probably why they came up with the TDI
version for 2011. Great interior space and cargo room, excellent
handling and perfect for longer trips. Gas mileage it's OK, I get around
350 miles between Hwy and city driving with a full tank of 26 gal.

Great acceleration, great performance, handles like a champ. performance is amazing, great appearance, very fun to drive. expensive to own, however worth it. speaker system is bose and great. it is very fun to drive, i would recommend it any day.May 10, 2010

The more I drive it the more I love it. The car performs well in city driving and excellent in of road and winter driving.

Love it! Its loads more than a big old bus, really comfortable to drive and i do 30k+ per year, really responsive when its in sport mode. Absolutely loads of room in all parts of the car. I have four children and a dog and we all have plenty of space. Its even more economical than my last car which was a shogun. I average 28 MPG on motorway runs. Nov 10, 2008

its awesome it has a interface that u can play ur ipod with WIRELESSLY
it goes 0-60 in less then 4 seconds
its stereo is on the dashboard
it has a navagation system and siruis satellite radio
it also has 3rd row seating and seats eight people
and the rear door is automatic!!

My driver display screen for my audi q7 is blank
Okay I just bought my audi Q7 it's a 2008 model. Everything works and everything did work perfect except my driver screen. It worked great an just out of the blue just quit working. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe there was a fuse for it......but I have no idea. I do know that my buttons on my steering wheel still work for it because I was messing with the scroll buttons an somehow it changed my radio station when I clicked on it. So it's not completely gone. I'm thinking also it may be the lighting element in the screen it's self. Any suggestions plz help! Thanks, Ashleigh
