Love the timeless style of this car! Looks fresh in 2020. Hardtop cv safety,great power and transmission ,for its size comfy and sizeable interior , seats are supportive and comfortable ,once you get into them LOL! Got to get LOW!!, great GT car on open smooth roads. Things with issues are the switchgear you definitely need the owners manual LOL! A lot of hidden buttons you wouldnt know unless you go to book. If the roads are rough the suspension is kinda rough and loud but not a deal breaker.it is after all very short ,small, a CV ,and built like a vault so you feel the road .I say the steering is pretty good , but not the best but you do feel the road more then most newer cars just maybe a little floaty. Its quick, fast and has great curb appeal. I love it so far!!Dec 18, 2020

Based upon similar sports car target groups, the 350 SLK has superior interior features as compared to other sports cars Ive owned, such as similar year Porsche Boxter or Cayman. Both brands do have great exterior appeal, but the one feature on the Mercedes-Benz SLK that I really like is the standard convertible hard top, instead of being an additional, separate hard top roof you have to order, as you do for a Boxter. With a hard top roof, interior noise is less than with a rag top, looks better, and lasts longer. Overall, purchase price is lower for used SLK series as opposed to the Boxter and (most especially) the Cayman, with similar miles. One thing Im disappointed in is that manual stick shift sports cars are becoming harder to find, regardless of make.Aug 23, 2020

This car is classy, sporty, fun to drive, not too bad on gasoline and a GREAT car to have this time of year. It is an AMG model, black with tan interior and aluminum wheels. Navigation & CD changer is included.May 04, 2013

Love the car - but typical sports car not the most comfortable ride compared to the C series.
The seat wiring is faulty in these cars causing the computer needing to be reset on a regular basis.

This car handles like a dream, corners like it is on a rail. 355 hp in this small of a car is insane and so fast. I love driving it to Vegas for the weekend, smooth ride and has lots of power to get up go! turns in to a convertible in about 20 seconds. it is a blast to drive on the twisty mountain roads above LA. We purchased this as a 3rd car, primarily for weekend use, but I find myself driving it evenings also, just tooling around. It's a blast, drives great, turns heads with the top up or down (and especially when it is being retracted). Solid engine, perfect "rumble," seats are comfortable, great stereo, nice handling, etc. It is a great-looking car, and a lot of fun!Dec 20, 2010

fast, great handling, good gas millage, 2 seat hard top convertible. blast to drive. great interior. accelerates faster then almost any car on the street. 7 speed tap shift manual or 6 speed automatic. The only bad thing is you can't take traction control off.Oct 01, 2010

Small and has a very hard suspension not good for the roods of Puerto Rico. Although it is great chick magnet and very economical in gas millage. Garaje Isla verde provides a great servicing in Puerto Rico which is essential when owning this type of car. Jun 04, 2010

Just like the sl the skl suffers from nothing in particular. There's awesome body control roof up or down, the ride is firm but well-regulated and the SLK can keep up with most sports cars if driven well. The trouble is they usually aren't driven well.Oct 19, 2009

Fun little car to drive. Nice build. The seats are a little hard though but comparing to other sport cars it is quite generous. The paddle shift isn't so good, it will refuse to change gear when you want it to. However it is a very nice car for a short drive and for the look! Go for white or black!Jul 29, 2009

Honestly... there are nothing much I like about this car.
Apart from the engine which is sort of capable, nothing else impresses me.
The steering is lifeless, the 7-speedmatic auto gear box is best to be left in D mode (the manual shifting action is very slow), the interior material is poor with plastic everywhere, the seats are hard but not supportive, being a RWD but is a understeer king...
A roadster should be fun to drive, this car made me fell asleep.

This car wants to please you. Hugs the road, turns on a dime. Fits like a glove. 228 horses is plenty of power for this two seat roadster. Quality leather w/red stitching. I would always prefer a real sporty roadster or a 4seater convertible. For my height of 187cm it was at the edge of beeing comfortable enough. Makes by far not the fun a BMW Z4 makes (even with the small engine) and also does by far not show the same handling. Still a great car with a good handling and for daily use, cruising around. Do not like the silver plastic parts inside - look too cheap for a MB. Only thing where better as the Z4 is comfort by heading over 200km/h. Topspeed a little disappointing (225-230km/h). Roof-machanism fast and of high quality. A usuful trunk actually is not existing, but this is the concept of the class. Mar 18, 2008

Brilliant car - great engine, great handling, excellent brakes, very quick and fabulous looks. Only available with 7-speed auto gearbox, but using the paddles does improve the situation when pressing on. Mercedes r171 vario roof problems
So my wife's 2007 SLK 350 vario roof stopped working mid raise. After inspection I found hydraulic fluid around both roof arms. Dealership told us all the cylinders will have to be replaced and quoted us almost seven grand. Needless to say it's not in the budget right now. They want to charge me $168 for closing the roof manually, but tell me that both the drivers and passenger windows won'the go up all the way and the the roof warning light and beeping alarm will be going off. I sawill a YouTube video of someone putting up the roof manually and just not using the top. Is there a way to do this without these issues, like resetting something or removing fuses???
