Write a review"Fast and furious" the 2007 Z4 is being completely restyled and preliminary reviews - particularly from people who didn't like the "plastic interior" and electric power steering in earlier models - have been upbeat.
The 2007 Z4's will have the same sheetmetal as the previous year. The spy photos may have been a 2008, however. The newest version has a sloped roof line and a reworked rear end that make the car appear "squat on its haunches, poised for takeoff." In the words of one reviewer, "It looks completely badass." The new coupe is offered in M with the 255-hp, 3.0-liter engine and standard Z4 strength.

Not in great shape. The roof was in operable. They were going to fix it. There were several cracks on the trim, etc..Jun 20, 2024

It definitely is a fun car to drive. Has the best engine BMW has N52 I6. The Porsche Boxer and Mercedes SLK are similar and have different options to offer. My main reason for this car is that the cost of Maintenance and parts are considerably cheaper than the other coupe’s. Dec 30, 2023

I am very impressed with the 2007 Z4 3.0si. Ive owned a 2001 Z3 M Roadster in the past, which I enjoyed. This Z4 is comfortable (Im 63), smooth and powerful. I decided that I dont need to make the additional investment to have an M. This model had the 6 spd manual and the sport package. Ive also had a 350Z and a 370Z Nismo and was thinking Id go back to a Nissan Z until I drove and bought this Z4.Sep 16, 2022

This is very reliable sports car. One owner that I spoke to recently had one repair in 7 years- a new battery. 91 octane gas is required so you have to use hjgher priced gas. Be sure to get in and out a few times to make sure you are comfortable with a seat that is low to the ground, Horsepower options , depending on the year, range from a 4 cyl. turbo with 255 HP to a twin turbo 3 liter inline 6 with 382 HP. Other engine options were available on earlier models. Transmission options are a 6 speed manual and an 8 speed automatic. The top goes up and down in 15 seconds and there are no latches like a Mustang convertible. Press and hold 1 button, thats it. Take a test drive with someone who is very familiar with this car and then drive it yourself. This is a car with a very high fun factor. Check the trunk size and travel light.Aug 28, 2022

I had my mechanic take a look at it. Too many things wrong with it to list. At first the dealer was ok with my mechanic looking at up to a certain point then he wanted him to stop. If all things were working the price would be good. Jul 28, 2021

The BMW z4 is generally regarded as in the class of the Porsche Cayman 987.2. The handling is viewed a close 2nd to the Cayman, while the bmw engine and model rarity are a relative plus. Given all this, the z4 coupe is currently a bargain (if you can find one).May 26, 2021

The car is great. Small, responsive, excellent pickup, strong brakes and looks great. The interior is well laid out bearing in mind it is a 2 seat sports car. Manual transmission purrs through the gears. Akin to driving an S2000 without the need to wind it up to feel the power. You can drive civil in the Z and be perfectly happy. Feb 10, 2021

This car is an excellent value, having just 43,109 miles! As a bonus it also had a sport package - sport suspension, spoiler, sport seats, and sport mode. It passed all the Carly Connected tests.
I compared a low mileage Z4 M, but the Z4 was a better value for me.Aug 05, 2020

This is the best car I have ever owned - and I have owned a few! This car gets incredible economy when driven sensibly - and has great performance when requested. The original run-flat tires were a bit too harsh, but since those were replaced the ride has improved immensely. I have taken it on several long road trips and have enjoyed every second!

In inclement weather the visibility is somewhat restricted and you must be extra cautious as other drivers, if not paying attention, don't necessarily see you. It is a car that requires the
driver to remember this is not the family sedan. This is a performance car. This car provides you with all the stability you could want. It responds instantly to your control input. You also need to be cautious about using a car wash. The one with the two rails that guide the left tires, if too high, can damage the underside of the car. Specifically, it can take out a tie rod. We solved the problem by hand washing only. It is a small car (roadster) so it is easy to do.May 07, 2015

From the get go this has been a wonderful vehicle. Looks great, performs flawlessly. There are very few competitors for this particular model. Great view from the drivers seat, there are no blind spots per se. Even though this is a high performance vehicle it delivers great gas mileage. It's rated 20 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. I have experienced better than the 30 MPG on long trips (i.e., more than 200 miles). This vehicle was built to last. No vibration, no rattle, no sounds that are not supposed to be there. The automatic top opening/closure is smooth and quick. The trunk (i.e., boot) storage is much larger than you might expect. Easily consumes enough luggage for two people for a week. You feel very safe in this vehicle with all of its airbags and solid construction.May 22, 2014

Judy rented this car for my birthday in 2007. THANK YOU - JUDY. Great acceleration, handling, braking and great looks. GREAT FUN to drive. I got it up to 120 momentarily on the 71 heading to Liz' with Bobby as shotgun. It didn't take much to get it there when we came up on other cars and necessity required to slow down to a snails pace - 80. Paddle shifters were a gas. Able to change handling from Normal to Sport. In the Sport mode the ride was quite harsh - but that is what you get when you want great handling. The rag top works very simply. Easily able to have a conversation with my daughter at legal speed on the freeway with the top down. Lots of FUN. Thanks again! Mar 29, 2010

Amazing pull from the low end torque while. Quick
acceleration. Can hold it's own against cars with 30 more
horsepower. Brakes are insane. Ultra sticky handling.
Impeccable quality on the interior and exterior, excluding
the cup holders (not European design). The interior and
exterior are beautiful, subtle curves on the inside, radical
aggressive on the outside. Surprisingly fuel efficient with
an observed 25mpg city and 32mpg hwy. 42mpg at 45mph
in 6th. Warranty covers everything as far as maintenance
including oil.
Car is ridiculously fun to drive as a daily driver, only issue
