Write a reviewFor 2007, Chrysler becomes the last American auto manufacturer to add an SUV to their lineup. The new Chrysler Aspen will share many of the Dodge Durango's attributes, including platform and Dodge's sturdy body-on-frame truck design. Styling is what separates the two SUVs, as Chrysler has finished their new SUV with its own unique identity. The Aspen, as perhaps the name implies, will be targeted more towards a luxury audience.
The Aspen is available with two engine options: the standard 4.7 liter V-8 or the optional 5.7 liter Hemi V-8. The smaller V-8 produces 235 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. The Hemi will boost horsepower by 100 and torque by 70 lb-ft. Each engine is paired with the same 5-speed automatic transmission, and both are available with 2WD or AWD. The Aspen also offers a towing package, and when added along with the Hemi engine, this SUV can pull 8950 pounds. An optional low-range transfer case is available for off-road enthusiasts.
Most of the Aspen's options are grouped together into packages. The premium offering is the 28J package, adding heated leather seats, Sirius Satellite, a Pioneer sound system, automatic climate control, and 20 inch chrome wheels. Third row seating, sunroof, Bluetooth, navigation, and a DVD entertainment system are all available as stand-alone options.

This is a great truck nice upgrade from my Chevy garbage. It’s basically a wider Durango with better seating and entertainment system built in. also has the 300 Grill and the Crossfire stripes in the Hood.Oct 28, 2023

My Aspen has been so good to me since day 1 in 2007 and here we are in 2015 and she still runs like new and nothing else on the market really can compete in the style category... So much chrome accents on black pearl paint with led lighting interior with wood & leather accents throughout makes this my favorite vehicle I have ever owned. Comfortable enough for a family but also a man's SUV. The four wheel drive is great too if you ever drive to the mountains and the 5.7 Hemi has crazy torque whenever you need it. I also like the Hemi in mine because of the way it drops down to 4 cylinders whenever possible to save on gas! It actually gets better mileage than the smaller 4.7 V8! Indeed such a stylish vehicle to own and I think I will buy another down the road since they were only made from 2007-2009 and supply is limited! They are holding their value quite well and with the lower gas prices now I think the value has actually increased along with the demand for real vehicles and not the little 4 banger rice rockets with no leg room and very small and unsafe for the little ones on the road. I like to have high vehicle and be safer with SUV's always no matter what the cost...Feb 25, 2015

Great all round car for shuffling the family and friends around the city and at the same time can hook up to the trailer and take us on vacation. Always get positive comments on the looks and inside it is a dream to ride in. Did have to upgrade the shocks though as the factory ones are a little soft so she bounces and people in the rear complained of car sickness. With some Bilsteins on it it is a little rougher but no bounce. Apr 13, 2013

Its a great truck. Has been reliable and easy to maintain. Great vehicle for large famiy. Rear storage good be bigger. It does not accomodate too much stuff with 3rd row seats up. With seat down, there is alot of storage.Feb 17, 2012

Love this car - holds everything, rides nice, heated seats and remote start are fantastic living in New England. Easy to maintain and everything is high quality. Kids love the DVD player for long trips and plenty of room in the third row seat.Nov 09, 2011

Amazing car because of all the interior are OUTSTANDING
because GPS backup camera comfortable seats but the
back sucks because it is very tight and has an extended back witch is comfortable but the legging space was very
tight and note good leg room

i liked this car for the size it will still drive like a sedan and has plenty when it comes to the gas and once on the freeway it is great on mpg seats 8 comforable and does mountain terrain very well and the entertainment system is always useful in a long tripes with a good sound system that will come with sirus satlite radio Aug 12, 2008

4wd transfer case
Actually I have an answer to the transfer case kicking 4wd on and off. Unlock door with remote causes it as well as just randomly kicking in. Had to replace transfer case "motor" $200 and the air conditioning electric control. They are wired together for some idiocy but problem fixed and done. Good luck

Deactivation Solenoid
Has anyone had problems with the Deactivation Solenoids in their 5.7 HEMI. I have already replaced 2 of them and my check engine light just came on with another one gone bad. I have about 142K miles on the engine and this is annoying since I just had the last one replaced less than 5K miles ago. Any one with same problem

What is the fix for P3449 code?
I have been getting this code for over a year. One of the first things I noticed failing on my Aspen was that it would not remain on if I used the key(button) to start my aspen from a far. Soon after the CEL came on. I finally took it to the auto shop (not dealer) this month and received a diagnosis to replace all 4 MDS. So i did. But with my own mechanic. The scanner reads the code, erases it, but code is right back on after we start the truck. The truck also does not remain on if i start the truck with the button on my key...i was hoping it did. Ive read about replacing the ignition coil to #7 and by the sound of this thread, ECM may be next. Can anyone relate? Any feedback would be appreciated.
