Car is in good shape. Didn't see any rust. Engine sounds good & shifting seems great. The digital radio is unreadable. They didn't want to negotiate--but the guy was very friendly. I'd probably go back if I saw something else there.Jun 12, 2025

This is a great little car. Packs decent punch for an every day driver. Comfortable for its size. Lacking some of the tech stuff out today but it drives like a dream. Steering feels great in hand very responsive handles curves and turns with relative ease. I do feel like BMW kinda dropped the ball with some of the functions like the key fob can open windows, but cant close them and silly things like that, but overall it is a fun car to drive with a timeless look that does not vary much in appearance from newer versions. I am pleased with mine!Aug 08, 2022

I LOVE my daily commute in this car. 90 miles round trip and every day is a pleasurable driving experience. The power and handling are superb and it just is a flat out performer. The seats are bolstered just right for comfort and spirited driving. The I Drive works fine for me and is easy to use. I have owned a Lexus IS 350 and it was a nice car but this Bimmer is much better for me. I LOVE IT!Oct 11, 2014

The 335i is a great car for the price, for me the price of owning a very fast highly tunable great looking bmw with the amenities like push button start, aux plug convenient steering wheel controls, a great sound system, air bags everywhere and tire pressure monitoring system easily out weighs the maintenance cost. This is the best car Daily driver I've owned, it's great to drive because you can see out the windows when backing up ( I do a lot of grocery store runs ) sport mode is great and the transmission is responsive when needed, I'll definitely keep this car as long as possible.Jul 15, 2014

I have never had an issue with it. It is a fun car to drive, with great handling.
It has been very reliable, and great on gas.

Overall: Great car, fun for a few years, very quickly got old when the miles built up and maintenance caught up to it out of warranty. Wouldn't recommend this car except to those obsessed with BMW/luxury cars.
Performance: Two thumbs way up. Even with the base 230hp this car is fun to drive.
Quality: Mixed bag. Car is solid and will run when cared for, but many parts are electrically integrated (e.g. water pump) and will fail after a period of time with little warning. It's absolutely critical to stay on the maintenance timeline. Be careful with off-brand parts too - stick to OEM.
Appearance: It's a BMW.
Maintenance: This is a bear and my biggest dislike. Realize when you buy a luxury car you will battle the impression that you are rich and naive about your car, and can be taken advantage of.
Cost of ownership: Very high. Know what you're getting into.Jun 04, 2014

Edmunds did a test on this car in 2006 and was amazed at the results. The test performance was far better than BMW claimed the results would be. I can attest, It is absolutely true. This car definitely is a rocket on wheels. And the amazing thing is the mileage that it gets - even on Mid-Grade gas. The average of all driving (with at least 50% in town driving) should easily top 20 mpg.
For a coupe - this actually had a useable rear seat that people could sit in. Trunk space - plenty of room for golf bags ans suitcases.Nov 11, 2013

The twin turbo's power is really great, the chasis, brakes and handling are all up to the task as well. The car is quite comfortable, my kids never complain about the back seat. It's definitely got more room in the back than my friends 328 convertible.

This BMW 335i sport is one of the smoothest manual transmissions I have ever driven. Handles smooth, tight turning and all together grips the road with complete control. The car has ample power to overtake many cars on the road and cruises at 80 mph quietly and effortlessly. The interior is plain but clean with comfortable leather seats that are heated when needed. The audio system is excellent especially for the driver with an under-seat sub woofer built in and auxiliary jack in the center console. Oil changes are expensive but last for 12k miles instead of the standard 3k miles although I'd go for every 7,500 miles.Apr 02, 2012

Everything is just fantastic about the BMW 335i. It is economical unless you have a heavy foot. ROutinely gets 30mpg around town. Brakes are ure, ride is comfortable for long trips, has plenty of cargo space for its size. I dislike the runflats - and will replace with regular tires when these are worn. Yes the fuel pump was replaced , but in a recall it was covered and caused no big delays, especially when the BMW Location had a loaner.
The car can handle difficult situations, has more than enough power, and like all BMW is safe and you can't put a price tag on safety.
I was not sure I would like the style, but it actually grew on us and now it is very pleasant.Mar 12, 2012

Overall the BMW 328i is the perfect balance between performance and luxury. It is a car you can live with on a daily basis and stylish. A go anywhere vehicle. Only thing I would change is the Run-Flat tires. They are expensive and start to become noisy about mid-use.

Performance - Great acceleration and handling. Brakes aren't the best, but a
car for daily driving, I can't really complain. The car operates off a 3.0 Liter
Engine (N54) that's forced induced with twin turbo chargers. 300 hp and 300 lb.
of torque for a bone stock 335i.
Build Quality - Driving dynamics is impeccable and I can't think of many cars that
can put you in the driver's seat like a BMW can. Being made by the Germans,
electronics isn't too reliable nor is many parts on the car, but the craftsmanship
is excellent.
Appearance - Tasteful yet subtle interior and exterior styling. The gauges are
visible and simple, no flashy gadgets or annoying beeps when you get in the
car, the exterior is magnificent and they really did a good job designing the
taillights and the side view of the car.
Cost of Ownership - Go buy a Toyota or Honda if you're looking for something
cheap to maintain. If you get the car warrantied, that's a different story. Gas
mileage is pretty decent for biturbos actually at an estimated 28 on the
highway and 20 in the city, mixed is about 22.
Fun Factor - Oh yes, lots of torque at my disposal and with a $600 chip, 100

Wonderful to drive with a top notch chassis. Great balance. Wonderful steering and brakes. Fun to heel and toe with the 6 speed manual. Quick enough, but not a supercar. quality of build is great.
not fond of the new body style.
has more standard options than previous models
its a good car to be comofortable in for long trips.
leather is nice and comfortable and the heated seats are where its at when its cold.

Fast, powerful, comfortable, well equipped. Don't like the I-drive really, ride is a little harsh, engine and gearbox are excellent. Handling is flawless. Boot is small considering there is no spare. Acceleration is impressive stock and OUTSTANDING with a little work.
Build Quality is incredible, a very solid vehicle. Haven't had any problems yet, just passed 25k miles.
Appearance is (in my opinion) great, but is something that varies from person to person.
Cost of Ownership, except for gas and after market mods, NOTHING for 50k miles or 4 years. Gas mileage is about 18/29 I drive very aggressively and average about 22.
Fun Factor: Gotta have it!! Very fun to drive, especially when you break the back end out :) Jul 31, 2009

Great acceleration from the I6 and braking to detach your retinas. Decent handling in the corners. BMW quality so a quiet interior, even in the convertible. Very few repairs, but expensive when they happen. Interior was very well laid out and I'm fond of the new 3-series' styling. Great fun to drive and a rocket in the straightaways.Jul 27, 2009

Performance- I love how fast and easy this car is to drive. It has a smooth transmission. Mine'll do about 4.1 0-60 so i'd say its pretty quick, and the exhaust note sends shivers down my spine.
Quality- All the interior surfaces are smooth and feel durable and well built and the steering wheel is leather wrapped so it is very comfortable to hold.
Appearance- I love the appearance because it looks menacing and still kind of inviting. The red on black interior makes it look even more beautiful.
Ownership- Gas mileage isn't all too bad, and i have ahd to make very few repairs outside of normal wear and tear.
Fun- This car is very fun because it sticks to the road like glue and its a very fast car. I think out of ten, this car has a fun factor of eleven.

Performance: Couldn't be better. Surprisingly quick, feels strong through all the gears, and feels like there's a magnet holding it to the road without feeling heavy.
Build quality: Unlike most cars anymore, attention was given to detail. All the materials inside and out look and feel as solid as can be. "Squeak" and "rattle" are not within the vocabulary of this car.
Appearance: Difficult to provide a true "score". I personally think that it's a beautiful car; clean and refined, but still enough architectural interest to set it apart from the rest of the crowd. On the other hand however, I know people who think it's generic and boring.
Cost of ownership: Anyone I've ever spoken to who has one claims that the cost of owning one is relatively low. (Aside from the actual car payment itself.) All other costs aside from tires are covered by BMW. No money for oil changes, brakes, or anything else associated with other cars.
Fun factor: Enormous. Once you get in the car, you don't want to get out.Dec 23, 2008

This car was fantastic! Twin turbos took me to 60 in 5 seconds, and just think, adding a chip will give it north of 400hp and ftlb torque to get you to 60 in 4 seconds. I cant explain how nice the transmission felt, clutch engages fast and the gear shifts were so smooth. Amazing.Dec 09, 2008

Basically an awesome car. Powerful, fast, confortable, high-tech, looks beautiful, finish is perfect, amazing handling, good trunk space, 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds, satellite radio, room for 4 adults easy, easy to drive, german performance, tinted windows, sensitive braking, 300hp, 300lbs torque, twin turbo, ...
Basically, there is no competition in its class. It's director competitor would be the nissan 350z, with a smaller engine, not as much torque, not as fast, not as much room, ...
Gas mileage around 18mpg, a bit low

bought one of the first gen for this new mondel E92. had alot of lil problems...but overall the engine makes up for all of that. 300hp is NICE! car handles great. Body is sexy and i feel pretty safe in the car. sound system is killer too..unlike the older BMW modelsSep 17, 2008

I like the fact that it is twin turbo and has 300bhp/300tq bone stock. I also like the 6 speed manual transmission because it shifts very smooth and unlike the 328i, this transmission was built in Germany. This is a very good car that is very fun to drive.

Car is a rocket ship in stock form, and even more wicked with a tune. Very neutral and balanced handling give you confidence wrecking canyons and blasting through turns on uneven road. Heavy footed driving is rewarded with sick passengers.May 22, 2008

Even though it has all-season tires and is limited to 130 mph, I enjoy driving the 335xi at least as much as my 2000 540iA, which has summer high-performance tires. In short, love almost everything about it except the difficult, unintuitive navigation system accessed and manipulated through I-Drive. The paddle shifters and console-mounted stick offer ideal shifting choices. the automatic double-clutching on downshifts is so fast i can't hear it. only complaint is that even with abs and dsc shut off, there is hesitation at launch that also annoyed me with my steptronic 540iA transmission. Why isnt my 328i not starting
My car all of a sudden won't start. I tried jumping it, and nothing. All lights work, car makes a pumping sound as attempting to start, yet again, nothing. I tried resetting the battery, and sad to say, nothing once again. Please help.

Steering Column BMW328i
Just pulled the steering column on my 2007 BMW328i in order to deactivate a locked steering column. Everything went smoothly until I began to reassemble it. Problem: bottom part of column shaft seems not to go all the way into the coupling. I've got it lined up okay with the ridge in the groove in the coupling. However, seems like it should go far enough in so that the grooved part of the shaft hugs around where the pinch bolt slides through. Question: exactly how far should the shaft go into the coupling. Don't want to take a chance and just tighten the pinch bolt without being sure it's in far enough. Anyone else encounter this? Thanks! DJ Lakewood Wa
