Mercury hasn't put out a new mid-size sedan in a long time, and its new Mercury Milan aims directly at the Camry and Accord segment. Sharing many characteristics with the cheaper Ford Fusion, the front-wheel drive luxury Milan is the most affordable Mercury offered, and it tries to appeal to both a younger urban crowd and families wanting a bit of upscale comfort. It is available in either a Base or Premium trim, with two Duratec engines -- a 160-hp 2.3-liter I4 or 221-hp, 3.0 V6. The I4 is mated to either a 5-speed manual or automatic, while the V6 comes only with a 6-speed automatic. ABS brakes and dual front-side and side curtain airbags help earn 4-star crash ratings.
Inside, the 2006 Milan is fairly roomy for four adults, with split-folding rear seats and a trunk pass-through opening onto a 15 cubic foot trunk. Base models have full power features, plus a 6-way power driver's seat, MP3 capability, and cruise control. The Premier is adorned with two-tone leather seats and a CD changer, and rides on larger 17-inch wheels. Many owners like the style, which is sophisticated, yet sporty, with a choice of either satin aluminum or wood trim. Mercury also tries to sport up the exterior. Wraparound headlights surround the signature waterfall grille, and the rear end boasts LED taillights and dual exhausts.
Drivers don't seem disappointed with the 2006 Milan, and see it as an affordable luxury car with many creature comforts. The interior is spacious and handling is tight and responsive. The V6 seems to perform reasonably well, but the I4 feels underpowered, according to owners. Other complaints mention poor rear visibility and the low fuel economy.

Handling is awesome for a midsize sedan, acceleration is ok, fuel economy is good, ride is smooth and quiet unless you have exhaust like me, looks great and has a solid build. The interior looks great if you get the two tone leather and dash looks good in either trim.
April 29, 2009Great family car or for the sporty enthusiast. Handles like a BMW! I would recommend this car for those who like good acceleration and handling. The only downside is the gas mileage which averages around 17 mpg. I purchased with only 40k miles on her. She has needed very little maintenance.
January 22, 2015Solid car with good performance and quality. Has nice design in both exterior and interior. Appearance is closer to European models than American. Gets pretty good MPG (23 mixed). Would definitely recommend to anybody thinking of mid-sized sedan. Look forward to higher performance and mpg in the 2009 model along with the new Sony sound system.

July 29, 2008This car is a middle of the road vehicle, works fine and reliable. These cars while not too stylish are a great dependable car. Just be sure to give your self a wide berth when turning ad they do not turn short at all,
February 5, 20154 banger 5 spd will haul ass small car not alot of room. leather sunroof 6 disc cd awesome looking car get good fuel millage around 30 pain in the ass to work on but don't have 2 very often
