Chrysler has improved the safety of Town & Country minivan for 2006, by updating the side-curtain airbag system and reinforcing the roof and sides. There are no other significant changes.
In 2006, there are four T&C models available: Base, LX, Touring, and Limited. The Base model has an 113.3 inch wheelbase, while the other three models are longer, at 119.3 inches.
The Town & Country lineup covers a wide price range, with the Base and top shelf Limited separated by about $15,000. Chrysler presents the Town & Country as an upscale family vehicle, and even the base model comes equipped with standard features like a CD sound system, cruise control, keyless entry, air conditioning, and power windows and door locks.
On the LX, Touring and Limited, the second row bench is replaced two captains chairs, and Chrysler's "Stow 'N Go" flat folding seats are standard.
At the second trim tier, LX, Chrysler adds heated power mirrors to the list of standard features. The Base and LX are similar in price, while the Touring model jumps above the LX by nearly $7000.
This third level trim includes dual power-sliding doors, a six speaker audio system, three-zone climate control, a power seat for the driver, and a power liftgate. Jump by about $7000 again for the Limited trim, which includes tri-zone automatic climate control, a memory seat function for the driver, a premium Infinity sound system with an in-dash CD changer, a navigation system and chrome wheels.
The Base and LX models house a 3.3 liter V-6, which provides 170 horsepower. The Touring and Limited models get a larger 3.8 liter V-6, making 200 horsepower. Both engines are mated to a four speed automatic transmission.
What owners say
"Overall, owners are very pleased with the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country, highlighting its spaciousness, family-friendly features, and smooth ride. They particularly liked the Stow 'n Go seating, cargo capacity, and reliability. However, some drivers noted the vehicle's lack of power and fuel economy as drawbacks."
The car is exceptional. The features are awesome. Really like the vehicle. It is comparable to the Toyota Sienna, Dodge Grand Caravan, and also the Pacificia.
August 13, 2020nice van for family the tow&hide seats was very convenient that give this van a tone of space that could convert a 7 passengers to a extra large cargo van in a very short time kids loved it as much as we did fully equipped with DVD package it was made for long trip
September 7, 2012I dislike the fuel economy- my only complaint. Otherwise, this is an ideal vehicle for any Mother with one or more children. It made life so much simpler to have this vehicle: plenty of room for the stroller, the kids, the groceries, the dog...and everything else....smooth ride, excellent sound system, overall excellent vehicle!

May 10, 2012Never thought I would love a mini-van. Traded my sports car for this amazing people hauler. The gas mileage is good, the handling is great, and the cofortable ride is exceptional. Everything is top notch in the limited, you are cheating yourself if you go with a lesser model.
April 14, 2008The best features of this vehicle are a Full Heavy Truck Frame with the stronger Suspension, Extended Wheel Base, All Power Options, The Better 3.8 V6 Engine, Reasonable Mileage for the Year ( less than 200K ), and never being Wrecked or Mishandled. For me My Van is good-looking, Reliable, handles Smoothly with very agile Steering. Im totally satisfied
October 24, 2021I like that it is very roomy with lots of storage. Great family car! Only dislike is gas milage in the city but with a van you don't get that good of gas milage anyway. But gets good mpg on the highway.
March 8, 2015The performance, comfort, versatile seating and quiet ride are the best features of this car. I love the Stow n Go seats. In less than a minute, I can go from a 7 passenger van to a cargo van that carries a full sheet of plywood (4x8) with the doors closed.
January 18, 2012This car drives so smooth. It is gorgeous inside & out. Absolutely love It.
June 4, 2008This is my 3rd Chrysler van! I love them! I have no negative thoughts for this vehicle. The gas mileage was even good, it handles well. Was never in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance except for the engine replacement. Never any problems!
June 10, 2011We have the side curtain air bags and tow package. It got better mileage than my moms van (different year model but essentially the same with out tow package) when we drove to Canada.
