Cadillac added the new higher performance XLR-V for 2006 (see 2006 XLR-V wiki). Otherwise, the base XLR made minimal adjustments to one of the top roadsters on the market. The most noteworthy addition came in the form of standard XM satellite radio. Other changes involved adding and dropping exterior colors for the new model year.
The one trim, 2 door, 2 seat coupe uses a 4.6 L, 320 hp V8 engine with 5 speed automatic to get you 17 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway. Standard features include power windows, power door locks, leather seats, power seats, cd player, navigation system, ABS brakes, traction control, and stability control. Trunk space still comes out to 11.6 cubic feet with the top up, 4.4 with the top down.
Most reviewers still like the 2006 Cadillac XLR just the way it is. Perhaps the only real critique comes from younger consumers who feel that the exterior styling suits an older crowd. Otherwise, the XLR still holds its own and the XLR-V adds some juice to a top-notch machine.

The feature of the XLR are much better than the corvette. The over all design is better that the 2023 vett. The appearance is great. The price for this one vehicle is a little high considering the mileage. I personally like this one model.Aug 29, 2023

The car has everything I wanted on it. The color with the light colored interior is perfect. The low mileage, only 2 owners and no accidents made it the perfect car. Sep 26, 2020

This car was a car that I loved as soon as I saw it - a few years back I had bought one of their Allante convertibles used and it was fun... so when i had a chance to buy a one year old XLR, I jumped on it... the interior was sweet - looked great and was very comfortable - although if you wanted to really drive it in a spirited way, the seats aren't made for that and you won't stay in them... it had a nice, deep exhaust, so when the top was down, you would have a hard time deciding between listening to the exhaust or turning on the radio!
One major issue I had was the retractable hard top... for the summer I owned it, it was in the shop every 2-3 weeks... and it was under warrenty, so no cost, but just a pain - I mean I bought the car to drive and enjoy in the summer and it was spending more time at the dealership...Mar 04, 2014

One bad ass hot rod,a head turner,corvette with a cadillac body.
hard top and 1 button and its a convertible.not a long trip car
just take it out on weekends.17 mpg city 25 highway if you can
