About 2006 Cadillac XLR
Cadillac added the new higher performance XLR-V for 2006 (see 2006 XLR-V wiki). Otherwise, the base XLR made minimal adjustments to one of the top roadsters on the market. The most noteworthy addition came in the form of standard XM satellite radio. Other changes involved adding and dropping exterior colors for the new model year. The one trim, 2 door, 2 seat coupe uses a 4.6 L, 320 hp V8 engine with 5 speed automatic to get you 17 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway. Standard features include power windows, power door locks, leather seats, power seats, cd player, navigation system, ABS brakes, traction control, and stability control. Trunk space still comes out to 11.6 cubic feet with the top up, 4.4 with the top down. Most reviewers still like the 2006 Cadillac XLR just the way it is. Perhaps the only real critique comes from younger consumers who feel that the exterior styling suits an older crowd. Otherwise, the XLR still holds its own and the XLR-V adds some juice to a top-notch machine.
