The 2006 Buick LaCrosse enters its second year relatively unchanged. It does get some much needed standard safety features, which were either optional or not available at all last year. These include side curtain airbags and ABS brakes across the line.
Trying to compete with upscale mid-size sedans, like the Camry, the 2006 LaCrosse packs a lot of features into the base model CX. Power seats, windows, and locks, cruise, control, and air conditioning are all standard. The luxury CXL adds leather seats and dual-climate control. Both the CX and CXL are powered by Buick's old 3.8-liter, 200-hp V6. For a more interesting and responsive ride, the CXS features a 3.6-liter, 240-hp V6, with sports suspension and bigger 17-inch wheels. It also has an exclusive option of Stabilitrak traction control. The 2006 LaCrosse seats five, with a split-fold rear seat in all but the base models. A front bench seat that holds three is optional, with the center seatback flipping down to turn into a console. For this reason, the dash has been made flat, rather than curved out.
QuietTuning is part of the 2006 LaCrosse build, and it seems to successfully keep out road and engine noise, according to owners. The ride is smooth and quiet, and though the old V6 has decent pedal response, the new 3.6 V6 is pleasingly powerful. The exterior styling is refined and elegant, say many drivers, but the interior is made out of cheap plastic, right down to the fake wood trim. Other drawbacks include uncomfortable seats, no exterior trunk handle, cramped rear legroom, instrument panel glare that makes it hard to read the gauges, and so-so gas mileage.

The Buick was over 200000 miles and sitting on the ground the interior was ripped up, it was very rusty under the hood like it was sitting under water, and it smoked as it ran, I was totally insulted and teary eyed that someone would attempt to sell me something like this, so many shady people so little time I guess. I like the body lines, chrome trim, chrome rims, leather interior, power everything,. I dislike that if the check engine light comes on the stock remote start wont work, I seem to be replacing bulbs alot lately. Overall I like my car. It handles well in the snow. Feb 05, 2015

Performance: Acceleration, braking, and handling is very good. The power
steering really helps to keep this vehicle running smoothly.
Build Quality: The quality of the vehicle is quite normal. Normal wear and tear is
expected without any unusual problems. So, the Buick Lacrosse is very reliable.
Appearance: The Buick Lacrosse CXL is a very luxurious vehicle. It has a lot of
comfort features and it has a very exquisite appeal.
Cost of Ownership: Mileage was very good when I first bought it and the price
was very good ($14,500 at 39,000 miles).
Fun Factor: It is most certainly a fun and smooth vehicle to drive. One would be

This is a sweet ride! The Gen III 3.8 V-6 pumps out plenty of power to get you motivated. The ride is kind of on the firm side but that's why is takes corners like it's on rails. Interior is comfy, I like the long seat bottoms. The dash is kind of cheezy with hard plastics that tend to squeak. Jan 09, 2009

While driving the car and I go from a stop to about 2-3k rpm and release the gas completely, the car will either come very close to stalling and go back up to idle speeds 800-1k or completely stall requiring the key to be turned.

2006 buick lacrosse electrical system haywire
Out of seemingly nowhere my electrical systems are all fucked up, the only way i can start the car is by turning the key forward all the way and quickly moving back to the first key position then going to second position and then sometimes it will start. When started everything that works is as follows: Windows, side mirrors, cabin light, locks, trunk opener, pull down mirror lights, sunroof, fans and direction of fan changer, cruise control (?), Headlights/brights, garage door opener (?), Passenger air bag off/on indicator, brake lights, odometer, both lighter ports, rear view mirror controls. Everything that doesn't work is as follows: Rpm, speedometer, gas meter, temp meter, (all go to 0 when it starts but doesn't go higher) radio, seat warmers, hazards, ac compressor, cd player ejector, steering wheel temp controller. None of the Fuses are blown and it has basically a brand new battery (refurbished from ACME)

Nothing on my dash works except the back lighting. No fuel gauge, speedometer, rpm, oil pressure, absolutely nothing works on the DIC or dash. Is it a fuse, or relay, or something more complicated???
