The 2004 Toyota Corolla was mostly unchanged from the previous year, when it was completely redesigned.
The 2004 Toyota Corolla came with one engine, an aluminum 1.8-liter four-cylinder with 130-horsepower. Fuel economy was about 28-40 mpg. The 2004 Corolla came in three trim levels, staring with the base CE, which came with features such as a CD player, air conditioning, and power steering. The sporty S came with identifying features such a spoiler, larger tires and integrated fog lights, along with interior features like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob. The top-of-the-line LE came with high-end features like remote keyless entry and faux-wood accents.
Owners of the 2004 Toyota Corolla like that it is easy to drive and maintain, and that it comes with typical Toyota reliability. Some drivers still find the interior to be too small, and many recommend upgrading the tires. Shorter drivers complain that the steering wheel is difficult to reach.

I have enjoyed owning this car. It's been dependable, relatively cheap to maintain, and it still looks nice after a decade. The Corolla is easy to drive, it can be counted on to haul your groceries, make your commute comfy, and hold onto solid resale value. It will not, however, ignite your soul, turn heads, or blaze off toward the sunset as an awesome guitar solo wails like in the movies.Oct 29, 2014

I love the looks, the gas mileage, the reliability, how comfortable it is to drive. You cant beat the gas mileage and how well it drives for being a 4 cylinder car. I am always comfortable taking my children in my car because it feels safe and is easily accessible. Aug 15, 2014

I bought this 6 years back and have absolutely no issues... I have done minimal maintenance and the car still looks almost as good as new. My kids love the car and my wife loves the ease of manouverability. Best 1st car to have.Feb 05, 2014

I love this car. It is everything a car should be; smooth, nimble, roomy, has amazing speakers, reliable, easy to drive, unmatched viability, quick, fun, safe, looks great, and a fantastic daily driver. Needless to say, this is a great car to learn to drive in, and great to have a first car, or a regular car. It has very nice acceleration for a V4, and looks good on the outside. It never requires maintenance and will run forever. Brakes are above average and are tight with great stopping power. The only slight complaint I have with this vehicle is the noise for the engine that you can hear on the interior. It is kind of noisy, but still, not enough to make me annoyed or upset whatsoever.Oct 27, 2013

I love everything about this car. It runs like a charm. It has a great heater and air conditioner and the seats are comfortable. Reliability and Toyota reputation makes this car the best value on the road. 90% of Corollas built since 1990 are still running.Sep 06, 2012

I love this car. When gas prices were sky high, I continued to spend very little at the pump - all because this car can go a long way without needing gas! The gray color was perfect for me because it doesn't show dirt like other colors do, which allowed for less time spent at the car wash while still looking shiny and clean. acceleration,braking or handing has not been touched since the car's been

repairs:the side looking glasses has been stolen n replaced,other than that
the battery has been replaced.
app:looks fine to me,nothing fancy.
dad's the owner,runs in octane,it's AWD,therefore consumes more fuel

Performance is good for a 130hp. Acceleration is average. The design and the rims
need a bit tweaking. Nice affordable price. Leather interior will be nice. The
maintenance cost is low. Good fuel usage. The electronic part needed some

Corolla keeps being the quintessence of the everlasting, trouble-free, almost maintenance-free always-enduring passenger vehicle. It's practical, economical and dependable. It's also boring and monotonous to drive, even though the 1.8 liter 130hp engine it equips makes sort of a bid for "some" driving excitement or at least, for prevent me from falling asleep while driving. Acceleration is pretty good, whle cornering and handling are average in the best of cases. Interior space is just enough -rear passengers won't complain- trunk capacity is average and materials & building quality is above average, but not expect european-level finish. Overall, this car does exceptionally well the job that has build Toyota's reputation for bullet-proof reliability over the years: every time i turn the ignition on, it works. Always. No complains. banger i got vvti variable valve timing engine pretty smart very economic toyota

She's a toy. Not fast. Not slow. Not ugly. Not extremely attractive. Not to small. Not too big. and with over 37 mpg highway you cant complain.The car is fun to drive, at least you dont feel like you will flip it when you toss it around like you do when you drive the truck.Mar 02, 2010

Performance - not very fast (170 km/h max) and not very powerful (97 bhp) and it has a lag when changing gears. Build quality is very good, as you can expect from a Toyota. Apperance is kinda boring, nothing special.Nov 02, 2009

Acceleration is a bit slow, brakes are good, when changing gears there is a small "lag", build quality is quite good for a basic model, the outlook isn't that exciting, it's cheap to run and it's kinda fun to be in. Sep 05, 2009

Pretty reliable. Very agile but could be abit jittery sometimes.
Build quality is pretty good Appearance is not very exciting
compared to others in its class. Gets me to work and back

Everything works smoothly and there is room for a big guy like me. Even the 1.6 l engine has enough power to move the car faster from the line compared to most of the cars with big engines and stupid drivers. My 2004 Corolla S looks nice, handles well, runs great, and has never given me any problems mechanical-wise. Some interior pieces in the dashboard have warped due to heat and some chrome is peeling from one of the door handles but overall, great car.Apr 02, 2008

It sounds like a motorcycle, and the ABS is terrible - the brakes locked on me on 3 separate occasions. It's a wonder I never wrecked this car. The car's built solid otherwise, which is what you expect from a Toyota.Dec 29, 2007

My tail lights and the dash lights are out, but headlights are still on. Can replacing catalytic converter cause cracked exhaust manifold??
Took my 2004 Toyota Corolla in and had the catalytic converter replaced. Got it back and the engine sounded "fluttery" and could now smell fumes. Took it back and was told the exhaust manifold had a crack in it and it would be another $200 to weld it up. Pretty sure the engine noise and the smell weren't present when I dropped the car off. What's the likelihood the crack came about while the catalytic converter was being replaced? Would that be unusual, or not? Repair shop did not acknowledge any responsibility for the crack.
