Except for some new options and some minor tinkering, not much changed for the GMC Yukon XL in 2004. The full size SUV comes in 13 trims and seats 8-9 passengers depending on the trim. Drivers can choose among four capable V8 powertrains: a 5.3 L, 285 hp, 5.3 L, 295 hp, 6.0 L, 315 hp, and a 6.0 L, 325 hp.
Expect to get around 14 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway when you drive the 2004 Yukon XL. Max towing capacity generally ranges from 8000 to 9000 lbs., with higher end trims getting up to 12000 lbs. Max cargo capacity comes out to a relatively spacious 132 cubic feet.
Overall, the 2004 Yukon XL gets accolades for its roomy interior, plentiful options, and powerful V8 engines. Despite the need for better materials, automotive experts generally like the domestic SUV with the extended wheelbase. The 2004 version gives you a reasonably up-to-date model at a lower price.

seems to get a lot of dents. the drivers seat wiring goes screwy and controls operate backwards, alternator surges like crazy, heater control won't shut off heat in the summer so we plumbed in a T-handle valve, 6 CD part of factory radio stop working 50,000 miles ago. BUT, it has Bose sound with XM and DVD, seats are way comfortable, old people see it and you can drive to California from Florida comfortably. will really miss it when it's gone. Aug 11, 2014

I have had several Suburbans and Yukon XLs over the years, with many different seating and power configurations. This is by far my favorite for "on road". The Denali, although the name implies differently, is a road vehicle. It sits much lower than the Z71s of the same model, even when outfitted with 20" wheels as I did with mine. The rear coil springs and air suspension is very comfortable and the interior is quiet while traveling at highway speeds. The 2nd row captains chairs are comfortable and give plenty of leg room for the passengers there, and with these being heated, they are just as comfortable as the front seats. The 3rd row, although a bench in this model, is adequate for adults and comfortable for kids. When additional storage is needed, the 3rd row folds flat for optimum use of space. The 6.0 has a wide powerband and is reliable for the long haul. Overall, I love this vehicle.Apr 07, 2014

The truck was great and never had motor issues. Only changed the oil every 4k/6k and no issues. Really well built. Great for long hauls across the country with family. I listened to music while they watched the movies.Mar 04, 2014

You will be surprised by it's turning radius that this Yukon XL Denali allows you. It was even a lot smaller than my Plymouth Voyager minivan. The AWD is the best safety consideration the vehicle boasts off as you can feel and notice the difference while you are making sharp turns at a speed much faster than your regular two wheel drive vehicles. My family loves this GMC Yukon so much so, they regret that I wanted to give it up for a smaller one, but they have pretty much outgrown the very idea why we have this in our garage, since they have seldom come with me in a group travel as they already have their own travel itineraries most cases. But if you want to have a comfortable, safe, & fun driving experience, don't discount the facts I have reviewed on this vehicle as these are true to my families experience.Aug 31, 2012

Love the truck, does everything we need it to do including pulling our travel trailer. We have only owened it for a short time and purchased it used, but has been great so far. Would love to have captains chairs in the second row, it came with a split 60/40 bench, although heated.Aug 04, 2012

The performance is great.Just minor repairs. The interior is great with leather seats dvd player 6 disc cd changer xm radio sunroof.Gas mileage is not well but I needed the room,it's fun to drive too.O and it has a 3rd rowJun 10, 2011

Every available option. AWD capabilities. Very dependable. Looks great.
Cargo space is unmatched in any other vehicle. Sunroof, XM radio,
navigation, DVD player, Heated first and second row seats. Original
Owner, Zero mechanical issues after 112k miles! Memory seats, seat

air conditioning 2004 yukon xl denali
air appears to have enough refrigerant but I have to jump the relay to get compressor running. it's set at lowest temp and does not get very cold. Is it the compressor not pumping strong enough. When the relay is in the compressor kicks in for a second then stops .about five seconds it repeats. it does not stay running. I suspect the compressor is not pumping at full capacity .

Driver side rear window wont go up
i Just put a new window regulator in my GMC yukon denali XL 2004 and my window wont go up I checked the fuse that gives power to the driver side windows both front and rear and the fuse is not the problem I checked the rear window regulator that i just got to see if maybe the motor was bad but it was all continuous. And now im thinking it might be the wiring that gives power to everything what should i do?
