What owners say
"Overall, owners are very happy with the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe. They love its comfortable ride, ample space for passengers and cargo, as well as its powerful performance and reliable handling. Reviewers frequently mention the enjoyment of driving it, especially in snowy conditions thanks to the 4WD feature. However, many noted that the fuel economy could be better, with some stating it drinks gas quickly."
Overall this is vehicle is perfect for the family who doesn't want a minivan but needs the room. Although should you have more than two children you may want to consider the Suburban. Regardless, I have had both vehicles, one or the other over the last twelve years and can't see any reason to get anything else. It offers all the amenities that would come in a luxury vehicle at a more reasonable price. There are so many options to choose from and add on packages you will no doubt, ride in style no matter what your budget. I feel very safe in these vehicles as well as comfortable.
January 17, 2012I lowered the SUV as I felt it was took tall and susceptible to rolling over. The drop was 3/2 and perfect. I had airbags installed inside the springs to allow the towing of a boat. This was perfect as it operated as a load leveler. All in all, I love the Tahoe and would buy another one when the family is ready to move on from the minivan!
June 3, 2014Family of 5 fit comfortably with room for groceries, Looks amazing. More than enough power for any hauling/towing. Very minor maintenance up until transmission needed rebuilt but at 160k it was not a surprise. Overall would recommend Tahoe to anyone

March 20, 2014I loved this Tahoe! It has great space and options. It comfortably seats seven people and has so many different entertainment options. The dvd player was great, and has headphones so you can also listen to the radio or cd player at the same time.
May 6, 2012great SUV with a strong 5.3L v8 and is fast and never gets stuck in snow having the z71 package makes it even better and have a extra row of seating makes it easy for me to have more friends with me only bad thing is that it sucks gas
January 12, 2010I bought this car new. It has been in the shop one time for a factory recall. Other than that, a new battery and new brakes. 99,879 miles and trouble free. Maybe I was just lucky, but it is a good one.
September 12, 2012Amazing vehicles 280k on mine it runs great. Cant beat a 5.3L
August 18, 2023Slow compared to the Yukon Denali and the Escalade. No problems whatsoever since I got it. A simple and clean design for an SUV. Maintenance is low but MPG is fair for an SUV. Yes its fun! Allows you to look over other cars.
June 30, 2009This truck handles great and I love the 4wd feature (especially after a big snow storm). Had a few warranty repairs done in first year (speedometer replaced and drivers door realigned) but all seems to work great now and has never left me stranded. I would definitely buy again. The leather heated seats are to die for. I would never buy another vehicle without that feature and the Bose stereo is phenominal! The mileage is average for this size of vehicle. I didn't buy it for the mileage.....it's all about appearance and realiability and I like having some metal around me just in case. Aside from oil changes, and regular maintenance check ups it hasn't cost me a penny extra. This is the best vehicle I've owned so far out of many.
August 21, 2008Everything about the Tahoe is better than the Expedition and I can't come up with a reason to sell it. It would be better with a diesel so it could tow a real trailer and get more than 5 MPG
