battery/igniton issue
a 2004 escalade.. when i turn off the key and pull it from the ignition , my battery light stays on and so does the radio?

Nothing major changed for the Escalade in 2004 outside of some technological updates. More specifically, the full-size SUV got a standard tire pressure monitor and XM radio. The 2004 edition comes in 2 trims: 2WD and AWD. The 2WD uses a 5.3 L, 295 hp V8 powertrain while the AWD gets a 6.0 L, 345 hp V8.
As for gas mileage, expect to get 13 mpg in the city and 18 on the highway. The Escalade has 4 doors, seats 8, and offers standard air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power/leather seats, cd player, ABS brakes, traction control, and stability control. Options include navigation system and sunroof.
Overall, drivers love the luxury and sleek design that the Escalade delivers each year. On the other hand, don't expect to get too many miles on the gallon. Some critics also point to the high price tag and possible over-emphasis of style over substance. In any case, most people know what they get when they pick up an Escalade. And if they don't, they can listen to generic hiphop artists waxing poetic about what it means to own one of America's most coveted status symbols.

Most like whether traveling alone to work or with 6 other passengers on vacation, it provides a very comfortable ride. Most dislike the expensive repair parts, but that's to be expected. I've enjoyed driving my 2004 Cadillac Escalade more than any other vehicle ever owned.Dec 20, 2014

great pickup - engine for LA freeway driving. But can go up to the mountains for fishing/boating. Even pulled a horse trailer couple of times. Fancy enough for special occasions out. And versatile enough to drive all the kids to soccer practice and backMay 05, 2014

We have used this car for family vacations and the roominess was wonderful, did have to put a cargo carrier on top for extra luggage, but with 6 people it was to be expected. Drives very smooth over bumpy roads and is very quiet inside. Would recommend it for anyone looking for a car for 2, wanting comfort and power for towing at the same time, also extra space when need it for more passenger. Third row seat folds easily forward when not in use.Mar 10, 2014

The covering on the radio buttons is easily scratched off with your fingernails leaving the exposed ugly plastic. The dealer replaced it once and only once even though it continued to be the same way years after warranty expires. A/C actuators are not reliable and several have broken costing thousands! yes thousands of dollars. Rear removable seats are EXTREMELY heavy! Heater on passenger seat went out just after warranty did. Air bag shocks were thousands of dollars to replace. Dash sensor for headlights has gone out repeatedly. Don't really like the rims (like the 2007+ rims better), but overall this has been a great family car. We got 14.7mpg average, which isn't good for today's cars, but not bad for a large SUV such as this one. Jul 02, 2012

I love the style and all the options. The name says it all and the look turns heads when your driving. All the options are nice to have but I love the heated seats and the sunroof the best. I have 24 inch rims that complete the look. Needed to upgrade my Onstar to digital because it was still analog when I bought it. Got to have Onstar! It just safe and helpful. Nov 04, 2011

I love my Escalade. It looks very nice and is one of the best SUV's out there.
It has lots of room, has nice rims, nice lights, nice windows, it has nice everything.
Yeah this SUV is the best, and is just one of the cars in my collection.

i have a 2004 cadillac esacalade and it started to have a horrible tapping noise and sense this problem started also been giving me problems starting and from what i could tell it looks like the starter is good and everything else except for when i try to turn the vehicle on the fly wheel seems to not go all the way around its like its jamming or something and when i finially do get it to start it taps really bad its almost got me thinking the oil pressure idk?
