A "high-level tripster" that "bucked the worst" weather were among the accolades from car reviewers for BMW's debut version of the X3. Built as an entry-level version alternative to BMW's popular X5 line of SUV's, the X3 was an immediate hit, despite some flaws.

Drivers caution new buyers to stay away from a $1,500 sports package - the stubby-sidewall tires included in the package actually create a rougher ride than the standard configurations. Drivers were also a bit disappointed with the X3's shifting, which is normally an unparalleled point of pride for BMW owners and designers.

First time in a BMW and I will continue to buy them. Love how it handles, it is just a really great car to drive. I can go 90 miles an hour before I realize it-it rides that smooth. I feel good driving this car and I have owned my share of cars. Apr 23, 2015

it is a very beautiful car is good that it isn't as big as a bmw x5, but however it isn't as big to be a good family car, i think that the perfect size it's of the new bmw x3, bigger than an old x3 and smaller than an x5. The power is ok, because is less than an x5 that is too much powerful. i think that the new bmmw x3 is a very good car, and the older not as good as i want. however all bmw suv line is not good to do off road.Dec 04, 2011

unlike it's big brother the X5, the x3 is smaller, lighter and more appropriate not just for city driving but it can also take on cross country trips.. very spacious interior for maximum comfort... again, being a Beamer, it has a downside... high maintenance...Jul 19, 2010
