For 2003, the Toyota Sequoia saw a few changes, including a new suspension and the addition of a few more options, like a rear-seat DVD player.
The 2003 Sequoia is available in two trims, the SR5 and the Limited. The Limited is the more luxurious version, with leather seating, front and rear air conditioning, and an upgraded stereo. Both share a 4.7-liter, 280 power V8, and both are available as a two or four-wheel drive. Not surprisingly, fuel economy is 14/17.
Drivers of the 2003 Toyota Sequoia like how it is easy to drive and say it handles more like a car than a large truck. They also appreciate the generous amount of cargo room and the vehicle’s performance in the snow. However, owners complain that the vehicle gets terrible gas mileage, and there is a significant blind spot.
What owners say
"Overall, drivers of the 2003 Toyota Sequoia appreciate its spaciousness, comfort, and reliability, making it a solid choice for families and hauling large items. Many enjoy the smooth ride and performance, while some express concerns about gas mileage and minor maintenance issues. The heated seats and power features are popular highlights, although some drivers feel the vehicle could perform a bit better on the road given its price."
Performance - solid, reliable, quality truck/SUV. Great in all conditions. Build Quality - great design, very reliable, no major repairs. Work horse of a truck. Appearance - good looking truck in and out. very comfortable to drive. Cost of ownership - low. Toyota quality!
June 7, 2011I've owned a Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and Suburban, and the Sequoia was by far the best SUV.
May 23, 2008Love it! Has great power for all the extra weight I put in it! The seats actually move back far enough for me to fit in!!! And the seats are heated. Sometimes big girls get cold too!

January 12, 2008I like the ride, comfort, roominess and reliability. Excellent for long trips with family. Lots or cargo room. Can seat 8 people comfortably. The average mileage is around 17/gallon but the v8 engine is smooth and has tons of torque. I love it
June 7, 2014Plenty of space, smooth riding SUV that has plenty of room for the 3 boys.
March 1, 2008Bad gas mileage. I feel like for the price the car should perform alot smoother than it does. Window seals have come loose brakes are a bit hard and seem to stick or hang up sometimes after stopping. Last toyota for me.
