The 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser saw a number of small changes. The four-speed automatic was upgraded to a five-speed, the engine got five more horsepower, and a number of new options were introduced, like side airbags and a DVD entertainment system. The 2003 Land Cruiser also got a few cosmetic enhancements, such as a new grille, front and rear bumpers, and alloy wheels.

The 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser came in one, well-equipped trim level. The engine was a 4.7-liter 235 horsepower V8. The only available transmission was a five-speed automatic, and the four-wheel-drive was permanently engaged. The '03 Land Cruiser seated eight, with a removable third-row seat for extra storage. Fuel economy was about 14/16 mpg.

Drivers like the 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser because it handles well in all conditions, offers a generous amount of cargo space, is very reliable, and comes with a lot of luxury features. its a diesel 4x4 so its not great on road handling but off road its a great and fun. Brakes are good as it is heavy. Acceleration is ok. Build quality is solid and reliable. Appearnace is good, compact and practical. Ownership cost is high. Its is fun to drive off road, comfortable on road but a bit wallowy. But it has so many uses.Nov 17, 2010

Best car I've ever owned, hands down. Incredible reliability. I've spent less than $1.5K on it in scheduled maintenance over almost 7 years (not including tires and batteries) with zero problems. I've had it since new, 110K+ miles now. The car is very comfortable, like sitting in your easy chair at home. Great sound system, excellent navigation system (I like the touch-screen). It does cross-country travel nicely. Only downside is the fuel consumption. If I'm very nice to it, I can get 18 on the highway, but that's at 55-65 on secondary roads. Average 16.5 for freeway driving, about 13 around town.Sep 23, 2009
