The biggest change for the Escalade in 2003 came from the introduction of the ESV, an extended wheelbase trim. In addition, Cadillac decided to redesign the seats and add second row bucket seats as an option. The fabled full-size SUV offers 2 non-ESV trims: the 2WD and AWD. The 2WD uses a 5.3 L, 285 hp V8 powertrain and the AWD uses a 6.0 L, 345 hp V8 with 4 speed automatic transmission.
Expect to get around 13 mpg in the city, 18 on the highway. The Escalade has plenty of room and access for the whole crew with 4 doors and seating for 8. In addition, the Escalade can tow around 7500 lbs. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, power/leather seats, cd player, ABS brakes, traction control, and stability control. Shell out a little extra and you can get a sunroof and navigation system.
As with most editions of the Escalade, the 2003 model gets props for sleek style and luxury. On the other hand, drivers could do without the gas guzzling and above-average maintenance costs. Simply put, you know what you get when you buy an Escalade. Pick one up for social status if you can afford the accompanying upkeep.

I love the comfort and the way it handles on the road. There's very little road noise. I've never had any problems with it, so the maintenance has been very inexpensive. The car feels very heavy and safe. The gas mileage is the ONLY problem. Lots of room and great to take to the drive in. The third row of seats can be easily removed for extra space. When my wife said she wanted a Cadillac, I thought I was in trouble... once I saw the Escalade and drove it, it was easy to say yes! This vehicle is an incredible vaue for a used car. At 54000 miles, she has at least 100K more in her. We miss the storage we had in the back of our extended minivan, but the added seat (seats eight with third row), the power and towing capacity (we do a lot of scouting with our three kids), and the comfort are al well worth it. I traded my truck in for a smaller vehicle for work, and the insurance and gas costs have balanced out to be the same for us..... Thanks Cadilac! Feb 26, 2012

Can't say anything bad about this vehicle.
* Performance - acceleration, braking, handling - Great!
* Build Quality - has it needed repairs? squeaks/rattles - Great Quality!
* Appearance - both interior and exterior styling - I think it looks good!
* Cost of Ownership - gas mileage, maintenance - Cars are just expensive, nothing out of the ordinary with this SUV.
* Fun Factor - is this car fun to drive? Hell yes, it's fun What else can you pack 7 people in and haul hay for the horses?

I loke it cuz its luxary and looks good...has alota power 345HP...Handles like a car...so far nuttin has broke or needed replacing...i like how the wheels look on it as well...Just a nice truck!!! lol

The most successful luxury SUV out there, but LX570 really handles very well. Strong motor and transmission, I should know towed a big ass 2000 F450 with it. Very flexible, gas mileage around town is good, groundbreaking design(remember Matrix) tuners SUV, too big of a vehicle to be fun to drive.Nov 07, 2009

I was driving my escalade it seemed fine I turned it off for all but 5 minutes now it won't start I got 2 jumps it tried to turn over but would not start when the cable came off the battery it immediately died and all I hear is a fast clicking sound please help would could this be
