will a 2000 forester engine swap into a 2003 baja
The Outback takes off its top and reveals the new 2003 Subaru Baja, a blend of functional pickup and sporty sedan aimed at an active youthful driver. With nods to the old Subaru Brat and memories of dune buggies, the two-tone Baja looks a lot like the Outback in the front and around the wheels and lower body. Like the Outback, it is AWD and features the 2.5-liter, 165-hp H4 boxer engine. Depending on whether you get the 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic, you get either a continuous AWD or an Active electronic AWD.
There is both Sport and LTD trims. While the Sport is pretty basic, the more popular LTD comes standard with leather seats, a sunroof, power features, and a power driver's seat. The 2003 Baja, however, focuses on cargo versatility, knowing its drivers will be carrying everything from bikes to snowboards to surfboards. There are two bucket seats in the rear. The Switchback system allows for up to 6.5 feet of cargo space when the seats cushions are folded up and forward and the seatbacks folded flat. The cargo bed itself measures 41.5 inches, but with the extender out and tailgate down, expands to 60 inches. It comes with a standard bedliner and grab bars. A roof rack with crossbars is also standard, with attachments for skis and bikes. An optional cargo cover is recommended.
The 2003 Baja is tailor-made for those looking for a personal car that suits their active lifestyle, but comes with the safety, reliability, and car-like handling characteristic of Subaru. The favorite feature is the cargo/passenger versatility and flexibility, but owners also like the AWD capability, decent 20/25 gas mileage, and how fun and sporty the Baja is to drive. They do feel it's underpowered and wish there was an optional 3-person bench in the back. Wind noise can be annoying.

Where can I get a cheap tonneau cover???
What all will I have to do to swap out my old 2003 Baja engine to a newer 2004-2006 Baja engine? Subaru used a different engine during those years, but I can't quite tell the difference..
