BMW x5 part interchangeability
Are parts for a 2002 BMW x5 3.0i and a 2003 BMW x5 4.4i interchangeable? I know the engine and transmission aren't, but what about many things like mirrors, window actuators, A/C etc? Thanks, Barry

The 2003 BMW X5 is "more luxurious and better equipped" than earlier versions of BMW's prime SUV. Drivers found it "fast and comfortable" with "plenty of power" being delivered from a V8 engine.
The 2003 X5 comes as three models, with increasing horsepower and standard equipment: the 3.0i, the 4.4i, and the 4.6is. Drivers say the sport package offers "much nicer wheels" and is worth the added cost, but they also recommend an extended warranty package, as like most BMW's, the X5 will need to go to the dealer for most repairs.

The 20" low profile tires with wide tread help the ride comfort and do a good job of offsetting the otherwise rough ride of the X5 BMW Sport Package. Has more than enough power to go anywhere you need to go.Feb 13, 2015

This is not a car you would want to drive if your by yourself. It just to expensive on gas. It is however amazing if you have a huge family you can load up alot of kids and your wife with ease all in one trip. Handiiling is very smooth but feels heavy because of the car weight. Not much stuff that i dislike literally none. But the insurance cost to maintain. Got a lot of great features heated leather, sunroof, automatic windows, oil needs to be change every 10,000 thousands miles, stop speed is 3 seconds. And many more great perks.Dec 27, 2013

I have owned my 2003 X5 4.6is since new. I don't have any complaints about this vehicle. It is fun to drive and very little has gone wrong with it. BMW builds a very robust product with the intent for the vehicle to last a long, long time. I have approximately 160,000 km on it now and it still drives like new.

Like the fact it looks almost new, even at 8 years old. The paint reflects like a mirror, and the leather is soft and comfortable. Dealer's care is supreme, but not cheap. Dealer's service department looks as clean as a showroom.Oct 19, 2011

Performance - very good and a strong performer.
Build Quality - German design and quality very good. Great interior,
quality build throughout the car.
Appearance - great looking car in and out.
Cost of ownership - low. Normal service, nothing major.

the performance on my car is preti gd and the handling is the same it bein 4wheel drive. build quality is execellent.
its black, with black leatha interior with dvd screens in headrests and dvd player in front with 2 fli 900w amps and 2 1500w fli subs.
outside i ave angeleyes headlights with a chrome bullbar n 22inch chrome alloys.

This truck is great. Power is amazing for a SUV. Plus it presents like no other in 2003. I bought it used with about 160000 kms and drove for 20000kms without any problems.Anybody looking to buy one. its a big gas guzzler but its all worth it. Big White smoke clouds out of exaust
I was driving normally when i noticed a huge cloud of smoke in my review mirror. I decided to drive away from the cloud but realized it was coming from my car. No check engine light. No overheating. Engine was running fine. No abnormalities besides the smoke. I pulled over right away and checked the exhaust and noticed what seemed to be a mixture of water and oil. I checked my oil dipstick and no oil was present. I had just done the oil change about two months ago so that was odd. I want to know what it might be before taking it to a mechanic so i have an idea of what to expect and not be ripped off. Thanks!!!

Battery red light on - battery not charging
I own a 2003 X5, 3.0 l. Yesterday I drove to the store (4 miles from home) and after getting back into the vehicle it would not start. I jump-started it and after getting back home I noticed the red battery light stated on after turning the engine off - and the engine would not start again. I checked the accessory belts and they look fine, so I think the alternator's bad. My batery is over 6 years old. Is it possible that the battery is bad and will not charge?
