All the right features for a car of this caliber. You get what you pay for and this one has a lot to offer for the money. All the car is missing is an owner that will appreciate all that the car has to offer. It has the looks, features, handling and performance that a true sports car enthusiast would look for and appreciate. Closest model overall would be the 911 Turbo. The Porsche 996 turbo is probably one of the most reliable cars out there. I would highly recommend this car to any car lover. This car has plenty of power with a 420 horsepower twin turbo. The car handles better than any car in the world and looks like a car of the future. Couldn't be happier!!Mar 24, 2015

996 has great performance and handling. The build quality is high which is the cornerstone of Porsche cars generally. I think the styling of the 996 is beautiful and was unduly criticised. Cost of ownership - economical. It's a fun car!Jul 18, 2009

RMS is known problem in 996 version
Cost of Ownership – High. All parts are made in germany and cost 3-4X of the usual cars. Takes ONLY premium gas and not too good on milage.. BUT WHO CARES???
Fun Factor- NO LIMITS - I still havent pushed the limits of this car .. but I can take a U-turn at 40mph with not a single squeek or screech .. thats what the Porsche engineering is..Sep 03, 2008

Well they still put the motor in the worng place but MY GOD THE GRIP. It feels as if this car has wonder glue stuck to the tires. While the acceleration and braking are strong its just not as dramtic or exciting as other supercars today. The AWD system is amazing every time i thougth i had reached the limits of grip the car would give more. Its great fun to drive just needs more power. May 12, 2008

The seats grip you to make sure that you don't go flying out of the car as you happily ignore those "recomeded curve speed" signs and just choose to drive at a speed you feel the car will like (usually at least 1.5 times the speed limit)

it has 420bhp and a 0-60mph time of 4.2 but since its quite old now, its probably going to be slower than that. It has amazing acceration, floor it and the next thing you know, your doing 130mph. The brakes are good, keeps you out of trouble and of course there is a carbon ceramic brake option which is too expensive and not worth to get in thailand. A very responsive car; the car feels very controlled. Thats all i can say because i am not a professional test driver but a person who doesn't have a driving license.
