The 2001 Chevrolet Venture targeted the family transportation market, offering a full-size passenger van with a roomy interior and a range of trims. Buyers could choose from a basic Value Edition, the more upscale LS, the LT, and the high-end Plus. The Warner Brothers Edition, which combined luxury touches with an integrated video entertainment system, was another trim option; the LS, LT, and Plus models were available in both regular and extended-wheelbase versions.
In addition to passenger space and cargo capacity, the '01 Chevy Venture had solidity and power to recommend it. A 4.6-liter V6 engine with 185 horsepower and 210 lb.-ft. of torque gave the 2001 Venture plenty of zip for a larger van. And it did so without sacrificing fuel efficiency entirely: An EPA estimate of 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway compares favorably to other vans in its class.

When I purchased this van it had 150,000 on it and still had a lot of life in it. 240,000 miles on it now and its only been 4 years it is amazingly durable. Needs new paint soon. I would recommend this van to anyone who needs a van.Jan 04, 2015

Our Venture has been a fair van. I have replaced all 4 Wheel bearings due to ABS Issues. Fuel Pump Level sensor went bad. Total A/C failure. Head Gaskets have been replaced. It has many rattles. We have taken care of it all but it has got to go. Anymore and Im going to become an drunk!! My wife loves it but she is not the one constantly repairing it. The power sliders are awsome. Glad they never failed.Mar 12, 2010

Good family van. sqeaks and rattles inside cabin. apperance is good. gas mileage is poor. Needs repairs in mechanics. Don't recommend it. It's a good purchase if willing to be repairing it, you'll get experience in auto mechanics. Handles well.Jan 25, 2010

I miss this van. It was awesome. When backing up, it felt like you were driving a bus, but the extended length and seating options allowed for up to 8 people or lots of room for stuff. They say it wasn't rated well for safety, well, buy one anyway and drive carefully. Also, the layout of the dashboard and controls I liked much better than the Dodge.Jun 25, 2009

I am mother of 2 girls, one 8 the other 2 1/2. I babysit, a mommy "taxi driver", I shuddle kids everywhere. I love doing my errands in it. Lots of room for almost anything I have to haul. We bought it used with a bad battery. Not the van's fault of course. My only complaint thus far is the battery is in an awkward spot to jump start it. My husband, who is a mechanic changed the battery but said that a "normal person" would have to take it into a shop to swap the battery. It is in a difficult place. Other then that I have nothing major to complain. I get descent mileage. Not as good as my Cavaliar was but the same as our Lumina and Camaro. The power passanger door works ok, sometimes it chooses not to work but overall it hasn't failed me when I needed it. Feb 26, 2009

This is a decent utility type of vehicle. It has really been good to me with very few repairs and being very easy on maintenance. Because it is an American car some of the material is not quite top notch quality, i.e., the plastic piece on the floor by the rear hatch is loose because a rivet broke. However, that is the only problem I've had with the interior. Gas mileage is very decent. I find this vehicle very usefull and not at all costly. The price of the vehicle was reasonable, it's good on gas. I can haul around my sound equipmet and other items when needed, take a crew of people with me and tow a small trailor. Needless to say, I got a lot of bang for my buck. Now, since it is a minivan it comes with the minivan stigma. It is not a fashionable vehicle nor is it anything cute to look at. I have had to explain to just about everybody why a man in his early 20's would own this vehicle. It happens to be a great car and serves it's many purposes such as those I had mentioned. This vehicle wasn't build to be fun to drive as many would guess, though it does have a good solid ride. It has a V6 which allows me to do more than keep up with traffic. For being a van it handles very well with surprisingly tight steering, so it's nice that it's not a chore to drive. I would recommend a vehicle like this to someone who might not have the wallet for an SUV but needs versitility and space in their vehicle. Even after I bought my Saab, I just couldn't give up this van. I like to keep it around for various things. Jan 10, 2009

the paint peels, without rust.
The windshield wipers break... CONSTANTLY.
It guzzles gas like it's nobody's business.
the breaks cease,
the airbags don't work,
it carries 7... I guess thats good.
it stops pretty well when the breaks are working...
it runs... gets me from point a to point b... so it can't be THAT bad... right?Oct 08, 2008

The car hasnt had any main problems besides the transmission. Its performance it outstanding for a minivan but in the corners...well u know what i mean, It was the highest trim level available and has decent gas milage. Its not like u drive it fast but its fun to ride in on long trips with the TV or a PS2 and XBOX!!Jul 11, 2008

Runs great lots of room, love the individual seats, makes for easy in & out, lots of storage (my lawn tractor fit in it). Never have to turn the lights on, therefore you don't forget to turn them off. Good on gas.
Windshield wipers not the best design, any ice on them & they have to be reset back to the park position (pain in the bum). Great ride for any family.Feb 21, 2008

I owned it for 2 years and spent more in repairs then I did in my whole life.Dec 19, 2007
When I turn the key on my to ACC or On, my day running lights are supposed to come on and they do, but so do my headlights. I have no control to turn them off with the switch it doesn't do anything. Except when I turn the key to the off position, push in the emergency brake and then turn the key to on position the daytime running lights come on as they are supposed to, the headlights stay off and Im able to turn them on and off with the switch. As soon as I release the emergency brake the headlights stay on and I have no control from the switch to shut them off again
I have a 2001 Chevy Venture Warner Brothers Edition. I have been trying to replace my alternator, but I dont know the amps size, and I dont want to just buy any alternator that, at the end, would not fit properly to my van.
my van started and i put it in reverse and backed out of the drive but when I put it back in drive it died. It acts like it wants to start but won't. We have changed the spark plugs and wires, the air and gas filters also. It still will not start.
