I purchased a 2000 4Runner. The brake lights work as they should when the lights are turned off but all bulbs will stay on at all times when the lights are turned on. Any suggestions before I begin breaking things.

Hi, I have a 2000 Toyota 4Runner (original owner). I now have 317,200 miles on it, still runs like a champ. I'm way over due on a timing belt change. does anyone recommend if I should change it? I'm a little hesitant because won't I need a new motor or transmission soon or???.... i'm not a mechanic or know a whole lot about engines.
i have a replacement ignition cylinder in 2000 toyota 4runner that is not quite fitting perfectly also wont turn when in housing is this possibly the wrong part from an autozone worker?
