This truck is simply awesome in the snow. It handles great but doesn't like to go over 75 mph. Also the pickup is somewhat disappointing considering it has a big 8 cylinder engine. I bought it from an auction house and doubt I will ever do that again.May 26, 2015

The SUV is the best I had, no problems until now...always on time for oil change. The ride is smooth, handles the road perfect, and saves gas in long trips..

First of all, my car is a ML 270 CDi, but the trim didn't appear on the list because it was not sold in the US.
It's a tough old bird with decent performance, retuning decent MPG.
In my case, reliability is not an issue because in never went wrong. Its image it's more than enough for me, because it combines modern technology with classic Mercedes Benz design.
It is pretty boring to drive on dry tarmac, but once the road gets wet or gravely, it starts to become fun to drive. It's no sports car, but for a 2.something tons car it's good.
Onroad, it keeps up with X5s, Touaregs and Allroad Audis, but offroad it teams up with the VW and leave the rest behind.
If you want a car with better on-road manners, you are better off with the BMW and the Audi, but the BMW is too vulgar for my taste. This is elegant, but very underrated. That is why I love it.May 29, 2011

I've had this SUV for 11 years now. It has a few problems but nothing major. It still looks good -- both the exterior and interior. My wife loves it -- it's not too large and visibility is good. Seems to be solidly built and I expect it to last for many more years.Mar 12, 2010

It was pretty powerful considering it's weight load. The
best thing about it was the lamella roof which was
rare for ML's. You could stand up while sitting in the
back seat. It has a spacious trunk for cargo when the

Handles well for an SUV, ML270 is economical for a car that weighs 2.2 tonnes as well. Build Quality is average for the money paid though. Reliable. Still going strong after 200,000kms. Turbo sounds great. People often don;t respect you on the road because it's a big imposing car.Sep 30, 2009

drives well ,acceleration somewhat slow,handles great specially in the winter.
high repair cost had extended warranty well worth it.oil and engine lights come on to often ,dealer charges ever penny for reset.
Car looks good, Running board start rusting,Interior looks looks good,eats to much gas ,yearly oilchange and service A or B around a $1000.00 Best to get tires and brakes done by specilty shop ,Dealer far to expensive
like the ml better than my BMW 320ml is fun to drive

Car Shutting off and won't start occasionally
I have a 2000 ml430 and my car will start up fine and drive but then it shuts off with no warning. Then I try to start it up again and it will crank over but usually I have to sit and wait about 30 min before it starts back up. I took it to autozone and it said the EGR Valve was bad. It was replaced yesterday and today when I drove my car, it shut off while I was driving it and now it won't start.
