wont start
i installed a new transmission wiring harness, now x5 wont start. everything comes on. battery is fully charged, but wont turn over. computer wont reset by using two buttons on the dash. was starting before.

When BMW launched the X5 in the 200 model year, the company was careful to not call it a "Sports Utility Vehicle," opting instead for the somewhat cumbersome "Sports Activity Vehicle." Indeed, the car was likened to a5-series wagon "on stilts," and initial criticism aimed at BMW said the company was trying to keep up with other car makers by launching its own version of a luxury SUV.
Despite weighing in at nearly 5,000 pounds, the V8 engine delivered plenty of power. The X5 was available in a single trim during its debut year, the 4.4i, with a 4.4 liter engine capable of producing 282 horsepower.

I don't like fact that BMW put battery in back (although it is efficient, stinks if have to get to it). I also don't like fact BMW on all post 2000 cars cheapened out on window parts and as a result the window regulators have to constantly be replaced on all models. Aug 18, 2012

World Class interior, and the engine spins like a lioness hunting for wild game, It bites like a Cobra and it drives you smoothly into the sunset of the horison,.... and the day after tomorrow.. It doesnt come any better than this..!!!Jul 12, 2010

My car is eight years old and has over 140,000
miles and it still has great breaks, handling and
acceleration, My car has had had minor repairs. It
sometimes rattles but I have gotten used to the
noise. The appearance is great, although I like the
look of the newer X5's. The interior is great, nice
leather seats with a pretty wood trim. Gas is
expensive, but that comes with the territory it is an
SUV. Maintenance can be expensive, for repairs,
and tires are expensive. The car is very fun to drive,

It is the funnest SUV I have ever driven. Handles like a sports car with the capabilities on a SUV. Great gas mileage considering the power and weight. The Dinan Sports chip greatly increases the performance of the car. Nothing like having 300 or more horsepower sitting under your hood.Oct 08, 2008

car, but the 500Nm the engine produces makes it feel quick enough when

engine chain
I have a BMW 18 years old. The car passed 128,000 km. At the service, I was told that a chain was broken and that parts of the chain had destroyed the engine. That the whole engine has to be changed. How much cost a new engine for a particular model? Does the computer show any sign in advance that this will happen? Is it accompanied by noise and what kind? This is a picture of the chains in my car, and this is what caused confusion. I do not see this type of damage. Rear air suspension all the way down
I have a 2000 bow x5 4.4i the rear air suspension is all the way down, I checked the fuse and its ok, I checked the pump by bypassing the wires and it's ok the pump works fine. When I turn the key to the on position, the pumps turn on, but only for a couple seconds then it turns off, I checked and replaced the relay and still does the same thing. The pump only turns on for one second, has someone had the same problem before?? Please help
