As reliable as an original vw beetle if
you equip properly. As a rule lower
horsepower vehicles should be equipped
with manual transmissions. Great used
car, if you do more than 80% hi way check
out a sonata. Handles the snow great with
proper snow tires, decent to average
economy for a smaller car but it makes up
for it in reliability, and the cheapness
of parts/repair work. 280 for a timing
belt and less than 500 for a new clutch
job, which may seem a lot however we do
live in a world where some dealers
charger over two grand to do a clutch
job. I have put more that 220 000 kms on
my accent only changed the belt once,
plugs, wires, bulbs and fluids very
reliable but i wish the body held up
better. Lack of standard read mud guards
have rusted out the back wheel rims as is
common on most imports. Great car for
teenagers/new drivers cause the only way
this car will do 100mph is if you push it

Reasonable performance. You can't expect more for an 1.3cc engine.
It has one of the worst handling I've ever experienced. The steering is very light and uninformative and the suspension is really poor. The brakes are poor and the wheels lock very esaily. It would be very better if equiped with ABS. Not a drivers car.
It has a simple design. Not very pretty, but it isn't ugly at all.
Just passing the 185k kms and bought new, it never let us down. Just put some fuel and keep going. Now is just facing some electrical issues, like remote control.
Definitely not fun to drive. It is a car for someone that wants a simple transportation from A to B.Nov 08, 2010

I enjoy the car as a commuting vehicle. It is reliable and starts up well every time. I have found rust problems with the quarter panels above the rear wheels. I will load up pictures soon. No serious problems so far.Nov 29, 2009

tough built quality.. interiors lacks sporty dashboard, exterior outdated but good looking needs facelift, easy 2 maintain, gas guzzler, it's a fun car to drive take it 4 a spin!!Nov 15, 2009

Its a hyundai that there is self spoken on its own, not fast after 100 km/h it doesn't accelerate but parts are cheap for it and it has pretty good gas mileage, it does the job to work and home.Sep 17, 2009

interior isnt bad but a bit old fashioned
not done bad on rust, very little for a 10 year old car
lots of faults on brakes had to be fixed.... common issue??

Although the gas milage was the whole reason for buying the car, that was the only up thing about it. The gears were plastic and so was basically everything else about it. It was not a fun car to drive the whole 90hp did not do it justice at all!Aug 16, 2009

Like: Silent engine, and good performance even after 6 years of solid use. Good build quality and impressive cost of ownership. Never had been heavy on purse.

acceleration on 1st 2nd and 3rd gear r great, but it slows down on the 4th and 5th, really hard 2 get 2 speed higher than 140km/h... car needs more weight.. maybe good rims can do the job, interior needs more work also.Aug 12, 2009

once you hit a certain milage...you need to rebuild pretty much everthing. which i did.
great acceleration and mileage.
also...they corner like it was on rails!

should stick to making nukes, not cars. If you ever come
across a hyundai accent ( or any hyundai for that matter)
slash the tires, break to windows, and perform your bodily
functions all over the seats. ( lack of tolerance for

$40 to fill, lasts 550 kms, not to bad amount of space in er for a tiny little bugger. Red lines nicely in 1st and into second, but no real amount of pick up after that. 92 hp stock. worth the little bit i paid for her, matenince is nothing. Has a manual sunroof, manual windows and power locks. The tiny space also compliments the sound of the subwoofers thumping from the trunk. Pretty good stock sound outta the speakers to.Sep 04, 2008

Nice Acceleration but the brakes is not excellent only good also the body is not strong and there is no stability after 110 km/h. About the styling of the car so it's very nice and momken tetzabat w teb2a gamda moooooooot.Also its price is not very high it ranges from 38000 to42000 according to conditionAug 24, 2008

My Accent was a very reliable car and the only major repair was replacing the water pump, which was covered under warranty. I drove it seven years before buying another car and selling it. With gas prices now, I wish I would have kept it.Jul 12, 2008

Hi. My daughter has a 200 hyundai Accent GL that won't shift gears correctly. We brought it to a great transmission shop thinking the tranny was shot. Looks like it may be the computer or its ground connections. Any idea where they are located? Thanks

New alternator and battery still don’t have power!
Car was driving fine shut it off one day after that It won’t start I went ahead and bought new alternator had to jump started the battery was dead after that I drove to the house as soon as I shut it off tried turning it back on and it won’t start . I bought a new battery still nothing the lights won’t even turned on so I have no power at all. I changed the battery relay still nothing. If anybody had this problem before tell me how to fix it . Fuel Gauge
I have replaced my fuel pump. when i turn the key on the gauge drops slowly to far empty position and stays there. no fuel light on. i manually position the needle of gauge half way and key on, needle drops as earlier. what cause this.
