i like the car because the speed and handling good car overall but the paint jobs messed up as you can see in the picture i need that all black again i did buy it like that though but overall very good car.Feb 05, 2012

just perfect to get around to do some errands and get to the gym etc, grocery, short drive to meet friends. The car is not good to drive long distance more then 5 hours cause you know is old. So just take care of her.Nov 17, 2011

Descent car. Good performance - best running on recommended
premium fuel. Solid engine - no major work required as of 235,000
miles. 6'-2", I just fit, but comfortable seats. Excellent sound system,
although could be a tad bit better. Long distance trips capable of 400
miles on single tank. Mixture of city/highway driving , around 300-350

This care is very powerful. I love it but unfortunately, I'm applying to a school in the East Coast so I need to sell this car. I used to drive Honda Accords and when I drove this, I will never go back to Hondas. I love this car. Maintenance cars were low. I always had the oil changed and tires rotated on time. No dents, just a few minor scratches on the roof. Everytime I wash this car, it shines for over a week and looks like new paint. What I loved about this car was that it came fully loaded: Leather, moon roof, tints, fog lights, mp3 cd, and premium wheels. One of the first 6g75 (3.8L) Swapped 8th Gen Galants, some engine work, automatic trans swapped for a 5-spd manual from a 2003 Eclipse GTS. Tuning was made possible via EcuFlash and swapping in the full 2003 Eclipse M/T ECU. KSport GT Pro coilovers take care of vehicle control and stability, braking is done courtesy of a Brembo brake swap from the Evo paired with drilled and slotted rotors. Wheels are ceramic coated Nissan 350Z wheels wrapped in 245/40/17 rubber. Cost of the car, $500 from original owner, cost of the build so far, roughly $6K and still going.Oct 08, 2010

1999 VR4, 2.5L 24v twin turbo, factory front mount intercooler. Black but auto :( Good handling, good brakes, it just kept on going, hit the speed limiter with little ease, so smooth to drive.... went through gas like a big V8, probably how I was driving it!!!!!!!Feb 21, 2010

i bought it second hand for $1700... good deal that was...
had loads of issues with it... and then got all of em fixed!!

This car started out as my daily transportation and worked flawlessly while looking good. Power is there when needed, and although not breath-taking at 200hp, it got the job done until the engine swap. Car handles decently and with upgraded suspension, it can ride like it's on rails. I absolutely love driving my Taurus SHO, but would easily have more fun driving my Galant any day. It feels much sportier and is more responsive. All in all, I am happy to own this car and will do for many years to come.Jul 08, 2009

im sure it was great when it was bought. but after a couple of diffrent owners, its not as solid as it used to be. the exterior has some dents, but not from me. it has needed some repairs and still needs some also. the gas mileage is great. Dec 12, 2008

We love our "G", she has been such a wonderful car, brought both of our babies home from the hospital and never had any problems until the water pump went 130000 miles into ownership. Unfortunately the shop we had to take it to messed it up and will not take responsibility for it. Loved to drive it before that mishap, now it is just a to and from work type of car.Nov 08, 2008

it was not to slow, could hold 4 people easy and have room to spare, kept up with a 1.8t vw on the highway, ha ha nice sound system in it and it was also not so bad on gas.. i just wish they made it in a 5 speed twin turbo in the USAug 20, 2008

I drove a 2.5 V6 auto saloon once a month for a year - beautiful, got to 70mph without effort, engine was dead quiet - even more so when idle - was it even on?

A great overall car. The inside is roomy, it handles well, it's peppy, and it doesn't drink deeply. Factory speakers could be a little better, but seats are comfortable. Good for a road trip. Filling up isn't a sledge hammer to the wallet. I love this car. It's a good buy.Aug 12, 2008

Acceleration is decent... but sometimes u feel like u r pushing the engine a lil.... the breaks work fine.... but watch rain if u dont have antilock system (mine doesnt). U certainly feel like u are under control... even if drifting (by mistake or on purpose) but again rain is a down factor....
i had to fix some stuff when i bought it used... but that was mainly because the lady that owned it before did not know how to maintain it or take care of it.... besides that i havent spent any money but in minor cable work (sunroof cables) and oil change. gas mileage.... well the way i drive i get at least 22-25 miles per galon... which is low.... and to maintain is same or less than any other car. the appearance is not a main factor for me.... im into sleepers... so the crapier it looks the better... but my friends say i could do some changes....(bents outside.... cigarretes burns inside by prev owner... etc....) mayb some day ill fix the inside... but not spendin money on the outside...Jul 09, 2008

99 Mitsubishi Gallant Starting Problem
I could really use a professional opinion as to how to proceed with troubleshooting this problem. Have a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant (4 CYL) (157,000 miles) and has been running fine until yesterday. Ran an errand and came out to find the car turning but not starting. Checked the basics before having it towed home. 1. Pulled a spark plug boot and it arced a spark to metal so were good there. 2. Tried spraying starting fluid into air intake (not even a sputter) so I’m guessing it’s not a fuel problem (or maybe starting fluid not making it into cylinder?) 3.I looked through the Oil Cap while my brother tried to start again (Didn’t see any movement) 4. Loosened timing belt cover to inspect belt (same thing its not turning when we try to start) the other accessory belts turn along with the starter but not the timing belt. Question-Is it supposed to? I am going to take the cover all the way off now that I’m home and in a garage and inspect the belt closer and see what’s going on. Again, I’m operating on the assumption that the timing belt should be turning and maybe its stripped on the bottom. What steps should I be taking towards troubleshooting this? Thanks for your help.

Are there any 1999 Mitsubishi Galant GTZ high-mileage runners out there?
