its very powerful has drilled and grooved discs all round for excellent braking handles like a dream havnt had to repair anything on it yet has great looks a bit thirsty but is a 2.0 with power mods cheap to maintain and is great fun to driveMay 21, 2013

Surprisingly great performance and pleasure of driving; it's a perfect handling car and provides lots of power, although costs of maintenance (Diesel engine equipment) are very high and unevitable. It has a fantastic New Edge design, however underneath (besides engine and suspension) it's quite similar to his older brothers - Escort or Mondeo/Contour. Oct 08, 2012

I love this car it drives and handles well its my baby ha ....ive dun everything i can to it except get it chipped up ..... the only thing what is puttin me off about it is the enginr cuttin out at a stop and the speedo ......Nov 23, 2011

Nice cheap car for the way to work, needed nearly any repairs in 2,5 years. But 1.8l and 115hp were not very impressive. Sold it as fast as i could when i had spend the money for the Volvo S60 T5 ;PFeb 12, 2011

nippy big inside good fun to drive quiet ish bogs dwn in 1st put pulls cleanly after that very cheap parts relible insurance not 2 bad gears are a bit wierd rolls through the corners and brakes are really sharpJul 30, 2010

I Love It. The 1.8 Engine pulls real well. Fun to drive. Only problem when the brakes get old they make a fun sound due to copper rubbing on metal. Great car for family or just a cheap fun factor.Sep 05, 2009

its ok, just a family runaround, gets me to work and back, its good on fuel, i can fit a buggy in the boot, it only cost me 1500 quid, tax is cheap, insurance is cheap, will do me for a few yearsFeb 08, 2009

i love everythink about my baby shes smooth quick to pull of and has really good breaks.
the only thing it has needed is a new wheel bearing

This is the thrid Ford I've driven in my life. I should say the impressin Ford gave me so far is not bad. This one again, I should say it's a good one. With 1.8L under the hood, the accerlation is quite impressive. Compare to other imports, there is nothing worst from the price you get, and I can't believe that it comes with alloy wheels on base model. Aug 20, 2008

My car is pretty damn sweet! Silver 1.6 16v Zetec 3 door, alloys, air con etc.. Had it for about a year, nice and nippy if you give it a few revs and handles pretty well! Good looking car, especially the sportier models. My first car so I love it! Aug 10, 2008

reliable transport, no more no less... good loading capacity and it never ever broke down. Only had to fill up with fuel and go! Think I filled up with oil ONCE in three years. But damn it´s boring.. no performance what so ever, made only to take you from point A to B..Jul 17, 2008

I now own a Ford Focus 1.8i Zetec Estate. It is very quick for an estate. he build quality is superior. The ride is very comfortable and I love my Zetec version as it comes with many extras such as Alloy Wheels, Front Foglights, Sunroof, CD Player and more.Apr 20, 2008

how do i fix the idle dropping too low?
so i own a 1999 Zetec 1.6v Ford Focus hatchback 5door but it had a low idle issue wich i have mostly resolved by remove the idle control valve & the Gas valve housing or whatever you call it and cleaned that. the only issue now is that when the engine is warm and you have recently accelerated the car drops too low in idle making the lights flicker when it drops too low. but if you keep it in idle for longer it will cool off again and start running better but my main issue is the lights flicker or anything else electronic related like if i need my lichts my heater & my wipers when i come to a stop the idle gets so bad that the wipers lets say barely move and it feels like the car is about to shut off.. ive cleaned the idle control valve and the throttle body aswel with carb cleaner/throttlebody cleaner. also added new small air hoses that were about to go bad. so those things cant be the issue i added a slightly stronger battery but that also did not solve the issue. it seems that the engine drops too low and can not give enough power to electronic devices. HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME!

i recently bought a 1999 ford focus 1.6 litre 16 valve zetec s ghia, the gearbox needs changing and i have one lined up but its from a 2003 1.6 litre zetec s it looks the same but can i fit it to my car? i dont know if any specs have changed etc? my mechanic said it should fit but i want another opinion! please somebody help!
