The 1999 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning made a triumphant return to the performance truck market after a five-year absence. The 99 Ford F150 SVT Lightning featured the sporty styling and lower, easy-handling ride of its predecessors, along with a plush interior full of goodies.
Engine power was the key to the cult following enjoyed by the Lightning's earlier incarnation, and the 1999 Ford F150 SVT Lightning did not disappoint. Under the hood, buyers found a 5.4 supercharged Triton V8 that put out a massive 360 horsepower and 440 ft/lbf of torque.
The 99 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, like earlier models, was offered with automatic transmission only, and only in a 2-door standard cab short bed model. Buyers had a choice of three colors: red, black, and white. Despite a limited production run, the 1999 Lightning made a real splash in the automotive community.

This is a fun vehicle to drive,,its a truck,,but proforms like a car,,o to 60 in 6 seconds,,only 30 thousand miles on it,,i just love to go fast,,it will leave other vehicles in my rear...Feb 15, 2010

cool looking, fast, apperance in cool lookin and has great stance a bit bumpy due to be lowered and have to watch front spoiler but great muscle truck great american truck for all sorts of reasons. and it only came in three colours mine is blackOct 05, 2009

Love my truck. Has great acceleration. Wish i had the money to put a chip in it. I have not had too many problems with it... Only had one major issue with the fuel injector. It is a lot of fun to drive and I love to drive it up and down the PCH... Apr 25, 2009

I could not love this truck anymore. Except for a couple dings and dents, i'm going to own this truck for as long as possible. I want to put a 6" suspension lift to it and new rims and tires. Lambo dorrs and a fresh coat of paint. Its going to be my play truck.Jul 21, 2008

Where's the Supercharger?
I have a 1999 Lightning without a supercharger. It has only 66000 miles, clean carfax, all svt gauges, interior, etc. Vin # has it as a real F150 Lightning. It has the 5.4 triton engine and does have a boost gauge in the instrument cluster which never moves. Under the hood has the serpentine belt routing and there is no supercharger in the picture. I thought all 99 and newer Lightnings were supercharged. Any idea what I have?
