1998 bmw 740 iL. I can't cool the driver's side.
when I try to adjust the temp on the driver's side it stay's on heat. the passenger's side is fine. would it be the temp unit or the motor that allows cool air in?

The car is loaded with features that would be comfortable even today. It handles impressively for its size, and accelerates well. You can expect to replace some minor interior components, but with regular maintenance these cars run well. This was my first car, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.Feb 02, 2022

Classic styling. Enough technology to function as a sports/luxury car today. Normally aspirated engines are a plus for a long lifespan. Get one which has been taken care of; maintenance is expensive, primarily the labor component.Oct 13, 2020

I have loved owning this car. It is beautiful, fast, and is not bad on gas. 21.3 MPG. It drives so smooth, it is really the nicest driving car I have ever been in. Although it is 10+ year old it still drives better than most new cars on the road today.Oct 26, 2013

These models are rare, the Dinan package makes this 1998 BMW 7 Series even more amazing! Driving is a pleasure, body style is beautiful, still turns heads and has an amazing amount of power for commuting or just pleasure driving. This one of the most recognizable BMW models. The mileage is surprisingly good considering the overall weight of the car. The sound system is fabulous, however, the multi CD changer, not so much. A real head turner, most people will tell you, "that's my favorite model and year!"Oct 06, 2011

First V12 "nothing like it". I've had this car almost 5 years. I've replaced a window motor, fixed the power seat and replaced the fan. The total cost of repairs has been for a car that has 160,000 miles on it. This car is a pleasure to drive. It's comfortable and powerful. I usually get above 28 MPG on the freeway, and that's doing 80 MPH. I almost always choose it over my other cars (VW Touareg V8, F250 Diesel) due to the excellent sound system and handling. I've looked at the newer body style and I don't like it as much. Also the iDrive is a pain to use. I now have 160,000 miles on the car and I'm keeping it.

The BMW 750Li, especially the 90s - 2001 model, was a fantastically built car, and a fantastically looking one as well. The car had an insane amount of grunt - you push the gas, and you're already there. It is, of course, a BMW, so repair parts are expensive, but then again, you wouldn't expect them to cost the same as a Chevrolet or Ford. You can pick one of these up for around $4K now, and it's still a very luxurious car.Oct 28, 2009

Acceleration, braking, and handling are very good for
it class. It has broken down before I believe twice.
Once the engine, and the second time a brake caliper
froze. The interior is really nice, comfortable, and "eye
pleasing." The exterior is satisfactory but nothing
special. Gas mileage is not great but not unreasonable.
The car is very fun to drive. We happened to get a
fantastic deal for only about 11,000, we drove off in a

i got to drive one of these one night after my friend got caught driving drunk in it. never got to open it up in the city, but i could tell it had power, and it was the smoothest ride EVER, but it also felt stable, like it could handle it if you threw it around a turn.Apr 07, 2008

Won't start no clicking after charged battery
I had a problem starting my 98 740i a few times so I decided to charge the battery overnight. In the morning the car would not start at all nor would it click. I replaced teh battery and checked all fuses. Someone said it may be the immobilization system locking out the car. Any ideas?
