The 1997 Toyota Supra had a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine with 220 horsepower. The turbo came with a twin turbo-charged engine with a 320-horsepower engine. The non-turbo had a five-speed manual and was available with a four-speed automatic. For fuel economy, the 1997 Supra got about 17 to 23 miles per gallon.

This was The Car for 1997, nice, reliable, and fun to drive.
but when it brakes down you better have a back up plan cause parts for this car more likely have to be order, and parts can be expensive Jan 04, 2015

Handling - good to learn how to properly drive,
Brake - If you got original 4 pod brake, no need for upgrading system. Just
change the brake pad, and you are good to go!
It is fun to drive, would've been nicer if it came out a bit lighter.

This car is great in that the year it came out it beat out the Ferrari Testarossa and Porshe 911 in 0-60, 1/4 mile and road holding and cost 1/2 of it's competitors. Which car company can say that! Plus it's sexy! I want one so bad but it's too bad it is no longer offered in Toyota's stable of fine high quality cars.Sep 11, 2008

The car i drove had numerous BPU's, the handling was perfect and balance feels like a perfect 50/50 even though it isn't, the 3.4l 2jz with a t67 and 4" piping simply has a war cry like nothing else. acceleration is neck braking and braking matches. Jan 11, 2008

does anyone have a turbo supra?? and if so how many problems have you had and is it worth buying one. I know they have bullet proof motors that can handle about 700hp on stock eternals. And for those who dont have one would you ever buy one and what do you think of them as a car with all the hype on them kinda like the skyline.
