What owners say
"Overall, owners of the 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII appreciate its powerful V8 engine, stylish design, and luxurious comfort. Many drivers love the performance and ride quality, praising its handling and gas mileage for a big car. However, some reviewers noted concerns about build quality and the comfort level of the interior, with a few mentioning that the transmission could be improved."
sporty but a personal luxury car. Suspension is lacking in my opinion but the roar of the engine makes up for that. I've had the car for many years and this is my second. I upgraded to the LSC since my first was a standard model with no sunroof. Styling is beautiful to me and it's very smooth and not so bad economically on the highway. Around town driving isn't the best in relation to gas expense.
February 21, 2013fun car to drive, luxury with some speed, loved it. fantastic engine weak transmission (or maybe I drove it too hard). One of the best engine notes I have ever heard. interior was a little lackluster, but had a good layout, and some neat electronic gadgets like memory power seats and puddle lamps and the first car with HID Xenon lights.
February 28, 2010This car may be the best car in its class and the class no longer exists. Great looks, classy comfortable and the styling will last for the ages,POWER,FAST,and refined always in control and feel safe.Gas milage is surprisingly good and maintenance is not a problem.

September 7, 2012The Mark VIII is the last of the personal luxury coupe before everyone turned to SUV’s and Pickups. Great styling , comfort, and performance in a car.
April 1, 2021great car! cost of parts aint cheap but is still very reliable! 300HP feels great. For a V8 its great on gas. best ride of my life! if it was a little more comfortable i would sleep behind the wheel everytime i drive it
June 29, 2012When I bought this Mark VIII it was a one owner car with only 50,000 miles. I love it. It has the 280 HP DOHC engine. It's the fastest car I've ever owned, with cornering like a true sports car. It has the original air suspension, in very good condition. No air leaks. The paint, wheels and leather interior are all original. It is gold in color. The car now has 66,000 miles on it. I'd like to increase the horsepower. Maybe with a cold intake air filter system, and true dual exhaust. I might be able to get it up to 300 HP. Should I try, with the car having 66,000 miles on it? Any other inexpensive ways to increase horsepower? I'd like to have somewhat louder exhaust without the drone inside the car. This car is a ball to drive, and gets 16.5 MPG. It looks great, and does not ever need repairs. When I need to pass another car, I just step on it, and it sounds like a jet engine. People in the other car can't believe I went past so fast. If you can find one, buy it. They go for about $6,000 in good condition. Mine cost about $44,000 when new.
November 17, 2010It has a powerful v8 engine,it is fast, comfortable and very reliable. The design both inside and out is just very cool. It gets looks everywhere.
October 16, 2020Awesome ride. Great power. Fantastic handling for an american luxo-barge. Stunning gas mileage for a big heavy american car.
June 10, 2008Very comfortable seats, reminds you of your favorite couch. The gleaming red is awesome to stare at up close, very deep. Gas mileage is way better than expected from this powerful V8, but efficient motor that Ford put in this car.
May 14, 2012What my friends think of it? I think it's more important what I think of it. Great luxury performance out of a car for very little money. Build quality sucks, so I'm going to let it go before it costs me an arm and a leg.
