The 1997 Honda Passport seems to not have the typical, and expected, Honda reliability. It's been around for three years, and not all drivers are pleased, with some even saying the engine gives out at only 90K miles.
The was a change in the Passport this year. The DX model is no longer available, but, the good news is that the 4-cylinder engine on all models has been upgraded to a 6-cylinder.
Standard features in the '97 Honda Passport still include driver and passenger airbags in the front, and a new instrument panel. The Honda Passport still uses a body-on-base truck-like design, which is good since it makes for better suspension.
The EX 4WD includes ABS, reclining front bucket seats, halogen headlamps, and child-safe rear doors.
But, in the end, customers are disappointed in the reliability and blame it on Isuzu's build.
Drivers like the towing ability and the Passport SUV's ability to maneuver in the snow. Many wish there had been a roof rack to help with limited cargo space.
I also sprayed starting fluid and that also didnt Start can someone help me figure what could be my problem and any good solutions?? Thanks

So just the other day i put my honda passport into drive and everything seemed normal but after driving a block or so the transmission seemed to just stop working and the engine just rev'd up and didnt move the car. so i pulled it over turned it off and turned it back on and it drove for another block and did the same thing. Any ideas? thanks in advance.
I need to put some oil in but NO WHERE has documentation specificaly saying if i need to use synthetic or conventional motor oil. Both Autozone and Oriley's have conflicting results with their product search yeilding both synthetic an conventional. I am just below 190k miles, what do I use? does it matter?
I took the suspension apart, I have the knuckle sitting on the floor and when i try to pry the axle shaft from the transfer case it will not budge. Is there something im misssing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I changed axle on cars before and once you pry they just pop off. im lost on this one.
