223K miles and still running like the glory days. Almost 20 years old and still has
features some new cars don't have. It is the most comfortable car I have ever

En dejlig gammel svend fra 1989 (ikke 1995 som vist - man kunne ikke vælge nogen ældre årgang). Hvis man holder sig fra BMW-værkstederne, kan det godt lade sig gøre at køre uden de voldsomme udgifter (bortset fra benzinen, altså). Og den er helt vidunderlig at køre i !Jun 03, 2010

v12 engine? superb ride quality, silent and.. luxury.. whats not to like.
Performance is superb when you compere to size :)
ist a bmw 7-series so parts may cost a little but not to mutch.

A giant stuffed Brookes Brothers suit with a honkin V8. Fast as a speeding locomotive... well it looked and felt like driving a fast locomotive actually. Sure the luxury and security were unparalleled...But this was one giant monolithic German piece of iron with power everything (even the headrests) in case you forgot how to do anything other than press a button.
Wayyyyy too corporate and pretentious for a guy of my age. Just a moment of try-it-out fun. And the engine lost all compression before 100k because BMW messed up the cylinder coatings. New motor? Only $9000. As if!!!Aug 10, 2008

Overall the car is fantastic. It has a 326HP V12 engine that's very subtle in normal driving, but isn't afraid to be opened up when put into Sports mode. The ride comfort is fantastic and is extremely stable. The ride quality is the best of any car, whether it's in normal or Sports driving mode. Body roll is virtually eliminated with the car's wonderful chassis and suspension.
The car is infamous for its unreliability, which is definitely true. Unless you have the money to maintain the car, steer clear. Otherwise you will rarely be disappointed.May 19, 2008

It's actually a 740iL; CarIQ doesn't seem to know that 740's exist; nor that only the new models are Li (2002 and up). It was iL before then.
Drives quite nice even though it sucks gas like it's free. In sport mode you can get it down to a whopping 4 mpg. I had to replace the four sub-woofers in my car since the rubber foam broke from all the years in the sun; other than that it's been good. The premium sound system in it is pretty good; it's made by Phillips apparently.Mar 30, 2008

I actually have a 1989 750il, so this review could be wrong for the '95 model...the main problem with mine is electrical malfunctions. BMW tried to make everything automatic/electric, and the technology of the day just wasn't reliable enough to make this a good idea. However, the engine, even though it uses fairly old tech like SOHC 2 valves/cylinder, is very muscular, with over 300 ft-lbs. of torque. Of course the car weighs more than 4000 pounds, so you really do need that much to get it moving. I've never actually raced it, but in my experience, this car allows you to pass most other cars on the highway with ease =)Mar 14, 2008

When I uploaded this car on here there was no option for what it really is....a '94 740iL....so I had to go with '95 750iL....Anyway, it was a great car, I loved it a lot....extremely comfortable and powerful car. The back seat was so comfortable I used to let my friends drive so I could sit in the back :-p The only reason I sold it is cuz I wanted something sportier and better on gas, that's when I got the '05 RSXJan 08, 2008

I have a 1995 BMW 740il. 152,000 miles. New battery and new alternator. Issue: It's hard to turn and when you move the steering wheel either to the right or left the battery light comes on. Who knows what's going on?
