PLEASE HELP!!!!! Starting problem 94 MR2
I bought a 1994 Toyota MR2. It came with 1 key, (non transponder), and no factory key fob. The prior owner said the car has a factory starter immobilizer, and in order to start the car you have to go through a process of opening and closing the doors, manually locking and unlocking the doors, and turning the ignition each time, and on the fourth time, the car will start. It does work, but i need to be able to start the car normally. I purchased an aftermarket key fob, and after visiting a professional locksmith and a Toyota dealership i was told that there is nothing they can do because my car does not have an OBD diagnostic port. And now a Toyota mechanic is telling me that Toyota did not install immobilizers until 1998. So, I am super confused, frustrated, and desperate. Someone please help me. There has to be someone out there who has had this problem and knows how to fix it.
