The 1994 model year brought some notable changes to the Toyota Camry. For the first time, a two-door coupe was offered, to compete with the Honda Accord. Other updates included a passenger-side airbag, a redesigned V6 engine with 188 horsepower and a new automatic transmission that allowed for less hunting between gears.
The 1994 Toyota Camry sedan was available in the DX, SE, LE and XLE trim levels. The new coupe came in the DX, SE and LE trim levels. In addition to the new V6, the old four-cylinder, 2.2-liter engine was still available. Fuel economy was about 20 to 30 mpg, depending on the engine.
By this time, the Camry had firmly established itself into the hearts of the American driving public, who were helping to propel it to the top of the best-sellers list. Drivers rate the 1994 Camry highly for its reliability and its smooth, quiet drive. Some complain about the engine's lack of "pep" and that the backseat is a little too small.

this is the best car i have ever owned 270k miles and still going. I have only to do maintenance and replace 2 alternators and a axial what more can you ask for? but the paint is wearing off but the sun roof works and seal still intact Mar 19, 2011

I have driven one van, 3 sedans, and one 2-door car. The Toyota hands down is the better car of the bunch. My 1994 XLE V6 has every single thing anyone could possilbly want in a car.
A/C - check
Radio - check
CD Player - check
Power everything - check
My only complaint is the seats are not very good. But, it's a 17 year old car for cry'in out loud. Oh and the fuel economy sucks. But, in 1993 nobody cared about getting good fuel economy.Jul 27, 2010

The best car I ever owned. Handled better than the BMW 3 series. Only one real problem, at 86K the suspension was starting to go. All new suspension, etc. and has run like dream ever since. Currently has about 150K on it.May 30, 2010

Its a great car overall, i just had an SUV so I dont really like the ride height and size, but it does what it needs to. This car was NOT built for racing so it is pretty sluggish, but the fuel economy makes up for all of that.May 10, 2010

Work car, need I say anymore? 5S-FE Not the greatest of engines and had an economy tune. Was brilliant fuel wise and very reliable. The car was a typical camry. I recommend this car to a cleaner or anyone starting a family.Jun 29, 2009

Generally the car runs great. It has an undiagnosed problem where it doesnt start sometimes and it'll occasionally shut off when I'm stopped, so I'm hoping I can figure out whats wrong with it before it starts doing something else (It has over 191,000 miles)Jun 27, 2009

acceleration is poor and braking is shaky at speed, corning its good, suspension isn't stiff enough, too much body roll.
Build Quality is pretty good, had a rebuild since ive owned it, still not perfect. lots of rattles but only when the sub is going.
Body style is good, lots of scratches and dents in the body, the bonnet is bent
mileage is good, about 800 to a tank, other than the rebuild i have not needed to spend money on it

I bought a 1994 camry XLE V6 with 90k on it. I've had some serious problems. The powersteering pump is leaking and on it's way out. The strut mount towers are have all gone south so any bumps cause major knocking up front. The throttle sticks in cold weather. Despite the owner paying big bucks for "toyoguard" rust prevention, it's still rusting...

my 1994 toyota camry (6 cyl) has a fuel consistancy problem from time to time. The car WILL start and WILL idle but will not feed the gas when the pedal is pressed. It is an intermitant problem.

I drive a 94 camry and I am loosing all the coolant in the radiator and I cant find where it is leaking at. I had my granddad fix the car and it worked for about one and half months then it started doing the same thing like it did before. I had a new head gasket, head checked three valves fixed, new wires, new distrubitor, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, you name it I had it checked out or replaced. I need to know what it is asap so I can fix it and drive it or sell it.
I have everything from the head up checked out and either cleaned up and used again or it was replaced. I have a lot of new parts put on the car and I need to know what the car is still leaking or burning all the coolant in the car. any help will be great. thanks

My 94camry was sitting idling when all of a sudden it died. I have tried jumpstarting and have good connection at terminals but nothing interiorwise there is fuel and was spark. What could be wrong?
