For 1994, its second year on the market, the Nissan Altima saw the addition of some new safety features, including a passenger-side air bag and three-point seat belts. Other than that, the Altima stayed largely the same for the model year.
The 1994 Altima came in four trim levels: the base XE, the midrange GXE, the sporty SE, and the luxurious GLE. All Altimas in the lineup shared a 2.4 liter, 150 horsepower four cylinder engine. Fuel economy is 21/29 mpg.

Replaced clutch, distributor, radiator, starter, alternator, right & left drive shafts exchanged (boots), new valve cover gasket, timing belt, oxygen sensor, batteries and tires, 190,000 miles. This is a fun car to drive and would get a newer one if they hadn't jacked the price up so much?Mar 08, 2011

low maintenance cost, manual so fun to drive, acceleration is
poor, braking is okay handlingi is decent. build quality is
decent. styling is meh. cost of ownership is pretty low

It was spunky and reliable. We still have it and it has most of its orignal parts with exception to the distributor that went bad my senior year of high school. Never had major problems outof the car and it's still kicking. Just as spunky as the day we bought it.Oct 07, 2009

I like this car because it drives fast. Other than that I pretty much hate it because it has so many problems, but what can you expect for $600? I've replaced the breaks multiple times, the windshield wipers are only usable when I insert the fuse, there's no antenna, it's only running on 3 cylinders (out of 4), there's still a hole in the exhaust, the air conditioner/heat only works on high, it needs a front end alignment, etc. It does get decent gas mileage, usually about 20 mpg, and the interior is good except for the floor in front of the driver's seat.Aug 01, 2009

I love the way it feels to be behind the wheel. It's like home. But I miss my 1993 manual Altima - it had alot more pick-up. These cars last forever if you treat them well. It gets pretty good gas mileage but I'm dreaming of a Prius.Jun 24, 2008

It's not a very exciting car, really slow with an automatic transmission, but it does have a lot of grip. It's hard to get comfortable, can't find a good compromise between the steering and pedal distance.
The car's been in the family for 13 years, it didn't have many major problems until the last year, where it wouldn't pass emissions, $300 later it passed, got the tabs and promptly traded it in. But other than that it was pretty dependable. It averaged about 24 MPG during its time with us.May 01, 2008

It has surprising power for its age and small engine. The 2.4L 4 cylinder engine puts out around 160-170hp and about the same torque, I know that doesn't sound like a lot but the car is fairly light so it can go pretty quick. The Falken Ziex ZE-512 tires I have on it gives it amazing grip on all road conditions too. Obviously its no sports car, but with some hard work and a lot of money it can be a contender on the track.Mar 28, 2008

i bought it as a used, but good interior, no leaking sunroof, all i need for this car is a fuel bump, new battery, new tires, mp3 player, 4 speakers, new headlight and thats it, nothing else. Gas saving in its class, good handling, just a tiny bit of understeering. Jan 30, 2008
