Just purchased a '94 Montero, the previous owner said the engine threw a rod. I'm not sure if I should rebuild or swap with something else. Looking for rebuild tips and recommendations on engine rebuild kits. Also want to get some feedback on swap options.
Have an old 1994 Mitsubishi Montero that doesn't get driven often but I do start and drive the vehicle at least once or twice a month. Recently tried to start it but NOTHING. Not even a click. Battery good. Fuses good. Wiring good. Took the starter out and checked it both at home and at auto parts store and it wouldn't work. Starter bad. Bought a refurbished starter, installed it. I am NOW getting nice clicking from solenoid but engine not cranking over at all.
Replaced fuel filter, drained tank, replaced fuel and issues still exist. Have not replaced fuel pump. Can a fuel pump work, off and on ? I always heard they either work or don't.
