turn key nothing
Battery is good. Headlights come on everything else is dead ? I figure it may be some fuse? I store the car every winter and this is a first. Owners manual does not really show an ignition fuse per say. Any ideas?

For its fourth year in production, Mazda's popular MX-5 Miata received only a few minor upgrades, including the addition of new tan-colored soft top. In addition, a new Sensory Sound stereo system with a CD player was added to the options list. The MX-5 Miata was powered by a 116-horsepower, 1.6-liter, double-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine with multi-port electronic fuel injection. A five-speed manual transmission was standard, while a four-speed automatic was optional. The MX-5 Miata came with a manually operated soft top. A removable hardtop was available as an option. Other standard features included power brakes, four-wheel double-wishbone suspension, a driver's-side airbag, remote fuel and trunk releases, and 14-inch wheels. Options included air conditioning, power windows, anti-lock brakes, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum alloy wheels, and leather seats. The most common comment heard from drivers was that the MX-5 Miata was a fun car to drive. Its handling, styling, reliability, and durability were among the positive points cited by drivers. Limited trunk space and limited power/performance were among the negatives noted by drivers.

i absolutely love the cars features although i wouldnt use it as a daily driver and repairs would be pretty expensive because of the cars age. but overall i think its a great car to show and and drive every now and then. i d believe its in good value too, the miles and low and the price is decent, honestly the cars missing some paintwork. i would add some designs related to the 90s or somethingMay 13, 2023

the miata has always been an iconic sports car. cheap, reliable and has some of
the best handling out there. the acceleration could be better, but thats not what
this cars about. the miatas styling and great demeanor on the road make it one of
the best sports cars out there. mine handles high speeds great! at 110mph its free
of any shaking or rattling. May 12, 2012

This car has great maneuverability and is a joy to drive. It makes you feel like you are in a race car. The ride is bumpy and there is little storage space, let alone leg room, but it hugs the road, provides excellent gas mileage and is super easy to maintain. The top is easy enough to work and the response to driver is perfect. I'd absolutely recommend this car to anyone looking for a fun ride.Jan 08, 2012

Fun to drive, build quality good, goes through plug wires quickly though. Not much in the way of interior space, and not much security in a convertible, but gets great gas mileage, and is awesomely easy to find parking for.Feb 21, 2011

Amazingly entertaining drive at a ridiculously low price!
You get a nice sports car handling from the car, even with 100% stock suspension.
And with only a few modifications, handling is of the chart!
Even though engine power is not one of it's strong points, there is still enough to put a smile on your face.
As a good friend once said, "one should never under estimate decibel horse power" - with that said, the distinct, but still refined purring of the engine during acceleration is much more than what I've experienced from any other car with similar engine size.
The car is, however, a bit noisy when driving with the top up.
But a convertible should not have the top up ;)
All in all an amazing buy with incredible reliability, that keeps the value better than anything I've seen before.Apr 09, 2010

nice convertible, economic and very good looking small car!! need only little more power to be excellent. Cost of ownership is extremely low - minimal yearly maintenance and it runs like a charm! Very HIGH Fun Factor - extremely fun car to drive! Passes smog test every two years without a problem. Had a minor issue with the security system that was purchased with the car from the dealership - it is interfering with the ignition of the car - I need to remove the whole system. Other than that, it is in great shape for having over 125K miles on it! I will never sell it!Jul 26, 2008

Maintenance so far (since Aug 2005), other than oil/filter:
(a) new timing belt (standard 120,000 mi service)
(b) change of all fluids (they were rather dirty)
(c) complete renewal of the A/C system (new condenser, compressor, etc.)
(d) replacement of the large and small shift boots
(e) removal of rust both rear quarter panels (consequence of living in the rust belt)
(f) new clutch & flywheel (not a surprise at 135,000 miles)
(g) new fuel pump
(h) replaced camshaft position sensor (Note: this is a $600 part! By checking the classified section of miata.net, I luckily bought one (used) for $100)
(i) new brakes, new ventilated front discs

i need more speed more horses under the hood please!!! put me a turbo (wich i did had no choice!!!) a little 1.6 liter 4 cylinder but with no exaust system in the back what an amazing noise!!!! i had a special edition black on tan with the roof tan also, leather interior an not to forget a 10 speaker bose system original from the compagny!!!Jul 22, 2008

high rpm mazda fe3 build help
hello i got a 1996 - 2002 kia sportage engine (aka mazda fe3) for my 1993 mazda miata and i was wondering if i could up the rpm limit on a built motor to around 11000RPM since it is an all cast iron motor i do plan on upgrading the entire motor with itb intake please let me know if i can use stock cast block if not head thank you
