The 1992 Toyota Celica was mostly unchanged from the previous year, with the exception of some small tweaks to the front end and taillights and some small mechanical improvements.
The 1992 Toyota Celica was available in a variety of body styles and trim levels. The coupe was available as the ST, with a 1.6-liter, 103-horsepower engine; or the GT or GT-S, both of which had a 2.2-liter, 130-horsepower engine. The hatchback came as a GT or GT-S, and the convertible as a GT. The high-end model, the all-wheel-drive All-Trac, came with a 2.0-liter engine sporting 200 horsepower.
The car earns raves for its sporty look, which looks current even today, and its superb handling and cornering. Many drivers wish that it had a little more power, and most say that the back seats are too small to accommodate passengers on long trips. However, the driver's seat is rated as being extremely comfortable.

This car is fun to drive, it is very responsive. Power to weight ratio is pretty good. It is very dependable. It has 260,000 miles on it and I intend to keep it going as long as possible. I put a body kit on it and it looks pretty good.Sep 23, 2014

I love the nimble and low ride, although it's going to take some time and money to get her where she needs to be. With as little mile's on her, Now comes all the things that come with that mileage, if I only had the money ....Dec 10, 2013

This Toyota Celica look like a true sport car. Exterior and interior still in top notch condition. This car also give great gas mileage, maintenance and repair are relatively inexpensive. Acceleration is good for a 2.2 Liter engine. braking and handling are responsive.
It is a fun car to drive.Nov 19, 2012

I am 18 and this is the first car that i've owned. i have completely fallen in love with it. it has 195,000 and i is still running strong. the rear rack is torn and it drinks power steering fluid like niagra falls but i cant get enough of it. it does not look 20. it is extremely good looking and will beat alot of people in races. it is super fun to drive in the winter or in the dirt. it can drift but if you know how to handle the beast within, it wont cause trouble. the back seats are quite cramped if you are tall although the front is very roomy. over all, great car, extremely fast and sexy. buy one! Loved it! Good accelaration, but steering a bit difficult when increasing rpm fast...Few repairs (aircon), aweasome apperance with retractable headlights (best celica ever). Good economy except driven to the limit! Overall a car you would love to have in your garage.Feb 05, 2011

Good paint, top needs work, 5-speed, and it's pretty quick. So far I've put on a short ram intake and headers. Hopefully soon to have 17" rims, 1.5" lowering springs, and a whole plethora of crap, including a turbo.Oct 09, 2010

Performance: It has awesome braking and handling, but it's a four cylinder car with sporty looks. It looks faster than it is.
Build Quality: Never needs any work done. After 18 years of service, it's rocking near 170 000 miles and shows no signs of its age.
Appearance: Beautiful teal color. Seriously. And those rims? Worth every penny.
Cost of Ownership: Considering I bought it for $500 dollars and have spent money on only routine maintenance, modifications, and gas for an average 26 miles per gallon, I'd say it's very worth the money.
Fun Factor: This car is fun to accelerate, take corners, and brake. It's not the 5-speed, it's not the convertible, it's not a ricemobile. Nov 01, 2009

Love the design, performance, and it's REALLY FUN to drive. 3rd Gear ahhh... This car handles like it's on rails. Nice and low to the ground, fully loaded except leather. 10 speaker sound system with amp stocked from Toyota in 92. Could of used a 6th gear but who's complaining.Oct 08, 2009

Performance - Accelerates hard, braking performace is above average, handles well but is limited as a FWD
Build Quality - Engine mounts seem to be slightly loose, causing some rattles, but othersie excellent quality
Appearance - Beautiful car inside and out! Full marks
Fun Factor - Lots of fun to drive, is quite a kick when you open up the throttle as well! Love this car!Sep 25, 2009

Performance: Tops out at 126mph if you remove the little
black box. It handles wonderfully around turns. It beats most
cars that race on the highway.
Build Quality: Ive taken this entire car apart from the whole
front end to a 3 day project on the gas and fuel delivery
system to the interior getting stripped to nothing, my celica
just starts right back up everytime! It does squeak and make
random sounds but what do you expect from an 18 year car
with 182000 miles on it?
Appearance: haha i painted it with undercoat and spraypaint
because it was rusting out with all the salt here in ohio. I
love it though and people deff notice it.
It has cost me a ton of money but thats mostly my fault. not
enough research before i bought it. get the car fax, you
wont regret it.
This is by far the best thing ive ever driven. It picks up
quickly and sounds amazing. power band is from 3200 to
5200rpm. Aug 10, 2009

My car runs great and gets good gas mileage . Doesn't break down very often and i love 5speed. the only down side to it is it doesn't have much speed to it although it has alot of torque for a little 4 cyl. Jan 20, 2009

I love the way the body flows, the shape of the body, the color, the way she handles the curves and hugs the road, She shifts geas so smoothly like she loves to go on long cruises.
She is just so breathtaking beautiful, if you see her on the road she is very mesmerizing, you will just stare at her and you can only dream about how well she handles.

Its an old beuty
In the process of improving
Tops out at 190 km/h
Standard trans accelerates fairly well
Clean interior
Minor exterior bumper damage
Cost 3150 car, 700 parts, and 100 labour (2000 for you)
Very fun to drive with the standard trans and front wheel drive
Turbo needed/wantedAug 10, 2008

the car had good performance, accelaration was not bad , handling was a bit sloppy cuz of the weight. the appearance of the car was good aswell, interior was clean with all the power options and leather and sunroof. the coast of ownership was a little above average because of insurance and gaz cunsumption, but overall it was a really fun car to drive.Jul 18, 2008

i remember it being a neat and fast little car. it was dependable, it got broken into once or twice it was a manual and my mom loved it. it was red and based on what i remember i would get one. in the end it was in an accident and the mechanic told us the engine was about to go in it so we got rid of it.Jan 07, 2008

My fans won't come on I changed the radiator sensor and engine coolant temp sensor, flushed and added new anti freeze and the fans still won't come on I swap the relays and still nothing does anyone know what else I can check? I also ran wire from battery straight to fan and fan came on.
I found a 92 celica gt convertible for around 3 grand, looks awesome, has new starter, alternator, power steering rack, tires, and exhaust. Has 170k miles on it. Since Toyota made the camry's like tanks in the 90's, is the 92 celica gt convertible essentially a toyota camry with a sport body on it? Thank you!
