At 21 years old, this Volvo can drink and drive by itself. For 1990, the GLE came with a strong 16 valve 2.3 liter engine. It makes 160HP vs 114 in the 8 valve engine. This car is very solid. It has the best seat and visionary angle over any other car. Trust me. You see everything once you look over your shoulder. I like that it had black bumper since bumper scratch would not be a concern. My car had heated seats with lumbar support. It also had the rare Alpine CD cassette unit. Acceleration is good enough at 0-60 in 9 seconds. It can outrun a 1990 525iA.Sep 02, 2010

This is one of the latest 740 models made, with 2.0L with 16 valves. It's identified by the front, with headlights from the 760 and the grille in squares, painted in the colour of the car. The engine is very smooth and excelent to the open road. In intense traffic is not so nice to drive. It has a 4 gear drive with overdrive, which is not more than an higher 5th gear, nice to economic long drives. It's design is unique and very special. But inside, the seats are literally like a sofa in the living room, with lack of support... unless you're a Sumo Wrestler!!! My own was moved with LPG/GPL and consumed about 14 liter each 100km. Although it's a big and heavy car, it's one of most secure cars I drove, EVER... this version is dynamic, has excelent brakes and what you tell it to do, IT DOES!!!Aug 06, 2010

This car makes me scratch me head. 20 years old yet everything works and it has heated leather seats, abs, air bags, 16-inch wheels and tires, and a power moonroof. It is still solid and delivers good performance and around 20mpg. The performance is quite spirited for a 4-cylinder and it handles well. Some of the interior plastic has become brittle but the body and seats are holding up incredibly well.Jul 23, 2010

Det är en rätt enkel, bra, pålitlig, svensk Designad bil. Med gener ifrån Kanada, Holland, Belgien, Thailand, Malaysia Indonezien men mest ifrån Sverige. Med olika bitar o delar ifrån samtliga av nämda Länder men det finns även delar ifrån olika städer i Sverige som tex Köping, Floby, Skövde, Oloffstöm. Alla dom delarna och bitar som byggdes o konstruerades i dessa länder o städer. Blev dom senare ihop sammamsatta i Volvo Fabriken i Göteborg ifrån 1984- 1991 har byggt jag Många exemplar antagligen långt över 10 000 exemlar o en av dom äger jag =)Jan 18, 2010

Suspension too soft, dont have the money for aftermarket parts yet. Ease of maintenance has still yet to be matched/superceded, except for my friends Benz 240 diesel! 286,000 miles and still can break the back tires loose at 30mph dry! (I'm runnng 3 times the stock boost) Build quality/durability is outstanding! picked this sucker up for $400 6 years ago and figure I'll still have it for at least another 2 for sure!Jul 22, 2009

I got this car as a car to deliver pizzas with, and it is excellent in that regard. It needed many repairs when i got it (brakes, tie rods, ball joints, radiator) but now that most of all of that is taken care of, the car is a joy to ride. It handles much better than most cars of similar size that I've driven, and braking is good, but the Volvo 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine is a bit asthmatic. While I haven't done a timed run, I can assure you that it takes the better part of 10 seconds to get to 60 mph. But as far as engine reliability goes, you couldn't ask for a better engine. The body is in good condition overall, with a few minor imperfections and a bit of a bang on the rear drivers side fender, but nothing that really makes it look like a pile of garbage. Mileage is decent (25 mpg after a week of delivering and 28 mpg at 70 mph on a highway trip). Parts are cheaper than other Euro cars too. Overall, it's a very cool car, as well as quite versatile, comfortable, and a great learning experience.Jun 23, 2009

well you get what you pay for, i bought the car cheap and man i got ripped off. it looked like a daily driver when i got it but it lead to nothing but headaches, it has a 4 speed tranny that wouldn't shift into third gear, after i fixed that I've had many electrical problems and i have had lots of tickets because of it. I'm scared to death every time i go on a highway or interstate because it has no acceleration in the world, heat and air don't work and neither does the cruise or sunroof, drivers door doesn't even lock, don't even know how many miles it has cause when i got it the odometer said 1003,000 miles and Ive had it for over a year and probably put at least 17,000 miles on it and it says Ive only traveled 250 miles. the list keeps on going about negativesFeb 14, 2009
