1990 Honda Accord Preview summaryImage

For 1990, the Honda Transformer officially becomes a mid-size automobile, the Honda Accord.

The outside dimensions of the '90 Accord add nearly 5-inches to the overall length, which interprets to additional interior space. The 2.2-liter, four-cylinder engine provides over 125 horsepower, plenty enough to drive around town - or comfortably for longer rides.

After 16 years, it is possible to find a still dependable 1990 Honda Accord for around $3,000 to $4,000. Of course you'll have to find someone who is willing to part with his or hers.

I got this car a couple weeks after the Corolla died; I was in a desperate need of a vehicle that was roomy enough to hold a bunch of newspapers I deliver, yet had good fuel economy (so trucks, vans, and SUVs were out of the question), this one was the only one in my budget available on Craigslist, at the time. The car was in a fair to poor condition and being sold for more than its worth, but I didn't want to offer something too low to the point that the owner would refuse to sell the car to me, so I offered $100 more than its worth, but the owner asked for another $100 and the price was settled for $200 less than the original asking price. The car had several minor to moderate problems that I've managed to fix over the year, but the rest is a bit too complicated for me to fix myself, since I'm not much of an mechanic. I really have to give it to this car for the fact it hasn't ever broken down on the side of the road, other than a couple times I had to change a flat tire, ever since buying the car. Unlike the Corolla, I sort of like how the Accord looks, which is, in some way, sort of sporty for a family car; I suppose it's because the body is low, wide, and relatively flat. Despite the fact that the car is getting pretty close in reaching 250,000 miles as of November 19, 2014, I'm pretty sure it will last another 50,000-100,000 miles, but I'll probably get rid of it, for a better car, before it reaches 300,000 miles.Nov 19, 2014

For a straight 4 cylinder engine, with 2.2 liters, it's gives a reasonable amount of power. But still, made on fuel economy, unlike some newer models with a V6 3.0 Liter engine! So yeah, the tyranny also comes with a sport, and what I believe is a 4, or 5 speed, which is now failing on me, and jumping, with more than 300,000 Km which I'll soon replace, along with many other things, but you could see it's a long lasting car, that's easy to fall in love with!Jun 14, 2012

Firstly, is the overall concept that it is a Honda. The fuel mileage in a car that is not only fun to drive, but low maintenance and comfortable. If I never sell this, so much the better. For the money: carefree as it gets.Apr 02, 2012
