can't get tailights working - brake & turn(s) do work
checked fuse and bulbs, but tail lights will not come on at all, turn signals and brake light works fine as do the hazards, anyone have any ideas?

Bought mine new for $10,000 in 1990. Now has about 245k miles on it and still runs great thanks to the wonderful mechanics I have had. Best trip in it was to tip of Baja California and back, before they built the airports down there. Those were the days... There is nothing on the market to replace it, so I will keep it as long as I can! Im a 63-year-old woman, retired salmon and wildlife biologist. Nov 09, 2024

Extended cab Toyota on 38.5/15.5 Nitto mud Grapplers a straight axle swap and a motor swap with a 355 small block chevrolet.A custom black paint job with tractor paint to keep it scratch resistant and custom yellow decals and 4:11 gears and a 700r4 automatic transmission.Nov 08, 2009

This truck is amazing i have an 89 sr5 extended cab and it has to be my most favorite truck in the world. with 200k miles and still hauls its built like nothing else. its a 5 speed stick. and it gets crazy good mpg. the back seats fold up for more room in the back of the cab, and the drivers seats have great lumbar support controll. this is an amazing car to drive.Nov 04, 2009

Stock toyota suspension blows. the engine has plenty of pulling power and acceleration for what it is. It has great lines, easy mods, and effecient. They were right when it got truck of the year!! If you're looking for a great Toyota truck look no further.Jun 13, 2009

The appearance of this truck is beautiful. I have been told on numerous occasions that people can't believe it is an 89. The motor is strong and has lots of torque, but when it comes to the freeway it's kinda a dog, very comfortable interior and everything from the factory still works great. Has needed a new stereo since I bought it but it works so I'm living with it. What else can I say it's a Toyota, basically bulletproof.Mar 22, 2009

acceleration is crazy because of the torky moter and it's top end isn't bad at all it it handles really nice. its a lot of fun to drive and the best truck in it's category. i would not get one after the year 2000 because thay don't look as good but these little trucks are tons of fun and i would recommend them to anybodyAug 18, 2008
