My rear reading lamp in my 1989 Lincoln Town Car always comes on when the engine is started. Turning the light off by the switch does nothing. When the engine is turned off, the lamp goes out.
Hi, I am thinking of buying a Lincoln Town Car 1989. The owner has kept it nice and it has 168,873 kms on it. It runs nice and both interior and exterior work fine. He mentioned that he took the car from Sherwood Park to Regina back and forth twice without any issues. ~760 Km distance just one way. My neighbour who is a car salesman told me "don't buy that bloody car! it bankrupted me, parts are nearly impossible to fix, mechanics will rip you off since it is a classic old car and you would have to invest a fortune just fixing it, just lease and be happy with a new car every couple years". I have heard that those cars are very reliable and parts are easy to find and are not very complicated as it is a Ford. What are your thoughts on this matter? I am not really mechanically inclined. Hello. My question is for my 1989 Lincoln Town Car. When I start the car it revs high like normal for about 20 seconds, then the engine rev gets very low and sounds and feels like it is about to stall out. Like the engine is not putting out enough to run the engine. The IAC valve is fresh, I loosened the screw so the air intake butterfly valve is open more. Here is the thing. I'll step on the gas slightly so it revs normal, drive it and when inarrkve wherever and put the car in park after driving, the idle is fine...sounds normal. It Is only with the initial start up that it wants to try and stall or almost stall.
All of a sudden my brake pedal went to the floor and there is fluid in the master cylinder and no physical leaks
1989.lincoln town car started with driving fine than started losing power stalling check engine light is on. It now doesnt wanna move stalls itll turn over and fire but than immediately stalls itll tend to run in neutral we already replaced neutral safety switch and that wasn't it so now we wonder if it could be throttle position sensor.
