Great Pickup with all new and updated undercarriage and driveline. The perfect project vehicle with just minor fixes to the body.Sep 13, 2022

Vehicle has a lot of power with the inline 6 and the switchable power transmission for casual driving or power pulling. Interior has almost no ware but the paint job is bad on it. It gets great gas milage for around the city driving. Typical maintenance but the A/C compressor just went out on it gonna cost $160 remaned to repair. Jun 26, 2011

low acceleration, good braking and handling for what truck is. excellent quality plain jane interior not afraid to get it dirty. economical, lots of fun. will haul and tow everything you need to haul or tow as long as it is not too heavy. good for going too dump or for going fishing with small boat.Jan 12, 2011

lots of work put into it
drives good
havent had it off road yet but will be soon enough
the front end has one problem the sway bars rub against the frame and has
rubbed a whole in the frame but other than that its a great vehical

very sturdy no rust looks good fun to drive unique trustworthy ive drivin it from clifornia to florida 3000 miles runs great the only problem i have is that its a bit hard to find parts cause they only made it four 5yearsDec 05, 2009

The Comanche was a fun little pickup and I ripped it to shreds...hehe. It was always party time in the Comanche. I took it offroading a couple times and it did that great. The tranny shifted smooth as hell and it had plenty of torque. It wasn't the fastest truck around but it sure was fun.Jun 27, 2008

500,000 miles on a 88 4.0 2x4 and 400,000+ on a 89 4.0. Weak spots for me are the water pump, starter and coolant overflow bottle.Mar 13, 2008

Steering column swaps
I have a 89 Jeep Comanche and I want to change the steering column to a tilt column. What columns will swap. I need tilt with automatic shift on the column not floor shift.

4.0 l starts runs 10-12 mins dies ,will not restart. wait 30 mins, starts, runs, 10-12 mins
89 jeep Comanche 4.0 L new, plugs, Rotor, Dist. Cap Coil, Wires, Ballast Resistor, Ign., module, Reman., Dist., Starts & runs fine for 10-12 minuets. Dies and will not start until cool, 30 mins. or so. then starts and run 10-12 mins. etc,etc ,

Starts up, runs fine for 10 minutes or so and dies. Seems like somethings checking out in the elecronics.
Will restart after it sits for several hours but the same thing will occur after running a short while. I suspect the ECU but hate to miss on a $200 part.
