i love the fact that she has 4x4 low, i've only been stuck one time, for like five seconds! it dose'nt have the best acceleration, but thats because i put 31inch rubbers on it. I use this beast to deliver pizzas, it has lots of room for lots of orders.
the interior on my trooper is in exalent shape, and the design is wonderful. the only down side to the interior, it is gray and mud and dirt stains show up very easly. The exterior design is very cool. i like the spair tire mount on the back door, the crome handles and the crome sidings. Her thirst for gas is a bit of a down side, but thats the price you have to pay for a nice truck. Apr 20, 2011

After 253,000 miles its still going strong. An amazing recreational truck
and city get-a-round. Have not had to replace anything in it since I've had
it and it has been a great Truck. It is a blast to take off road as it can take

Not so much power but quite good mileage. Good build quality. Has anti rust as standard so should not worry about rust. Parts are adequate and easy to find and importantly cheap to mantain. Good workhorse, dos not let you down.Aug 19, 2010

Was a great car, had alot of space, 4wd, but not enough power...but it was a used car and did not cost much, so at the and it was a fun first car. I even went to the max :))Oct 19, 2009

everything about the trooper was simple and rugged - had a fairly weak
2.6L four cylinder, but the car was so light, it had excellent pickup.

1989 Trooper Engine loss of Power
I have a 1989 trooper. It runs very rough and has no power and struggles to go 20 MPH. It idles, does not smoke but has rich gas smell to exhaust. It just will not go. Replaced, fuel filter, EGR valve, cap, plugs, vacuum lines and it has no catalytic converter. Any clue as to my problem?

89 Cherokee VS 89 Trooper (i4)
These two 4x4's have comparable miles, wear, and price. I'm hearing wonderful rumors about the 4 cylinder Troopers MPG and like the look of it. The jeep I've heard is just plain old bullet proof. I'm a handy man and need a good winter car with cargo room. One day maybe I'll pull a small trailer. That and occasionally camping. Nothing extreme. No mudding or Rock Crawling. Which should I get?
